Went to Mumbai for business and the stayed in many global hotels and this hotel didn't disappoint. It had everything I needed. The restaurants were very good and food excellent. Highly recommend to anyone...

Ideal Hotel in the Financial District

I had the perfect experience at Hotel Sofitel. My husband and I stayed in one of the suites, and our package came with access and dining at Club Millesime. The staff was great, our room was always straightened up after each adventure, and the food was amazing! I highly recommend paying for the benefits of Club Millesime, as it comes with breakfast, afternoon tea and free happy hour. The buffet breakfast downstairs has Indian, Asian and American dishes. Also, as a tea lover, I thoroughly enjoyed the tea salon! It is not close to the tourist area, but I desired to reside in a quieter part of the city.

Disappointing and frustrating service

Pros: Location.
Cons: Service, service, service, service and service
Location: Head to the Smoke House Deli for food and the area near Sodabottleopenerwalla for drinks.
Service completely let this hotel down. We stayed just two nights and ate 3 meals here - 2 breakfast and 1 dinner. 2 of these meals my husband and I ate 'alone' - we chased a breakfast order multiple times and it eventually came after 30 mins by which time the other one of us was done then in the evening after being told if we didn't want the buffet or indian then we'd have to go to our room and order room service. Eventually someone saw sense and we were allowed to order in the bar but again one of us got food and the other didn't get their meal until the other the person had finished. We canceled the order and left - it seemed that the staff thought it perfectly acceptable for 2 people to be at a table together but to eat separately. When we complained we were told that the it was because we were there the 'wrong weekend' - if we'd come the weekend before or the following weekend service would have been better. We highlighted that they knew a concert was taking place locally and that they would be busy and that we shouldn't be penalised for their inadequate planning. In addition to food issues, wifi in the room was also a problem with connection only being possible when you went to reception and then returned to your room until the morning of our departure. We spoke to the helpdesk and reception multiple times but with no success. And on a final note the walls can be best described as porous - you can hear everything from next door.

Nice hotel

Pros: Staff, food and location. JYRAN - TANDOOR DINING & LOUNGE has really great north Indian food.
Location: Convenient to airport, many restaurants nearby, as well as many multi-national corporations.
I enjoyed my 7 night stay at the Sofitel BKC. It is a nice hotel located in a relatively new business center area of Mumbai, near many multi-national business's. Staff is very attentive and helpful.

Great experience

Attentive and helpful staff. Room although a little small was bright and comfortable. I don’t understand the bad reviews on Expedia because my experience was great. Expedia should have an option that tells the hotel about guests with disabilities so the hotel can make necessary arrangements.

Loved it and headed back there this week.Food great. Room extremely comfortable. The only place we will ever stay in Mumbai.

One of Mumbai's finest

Location: Spent a short time here, so don't have much to say other than try the SodaBottleOpener wala place for their food - very pleasant experience.
As I came, I was told that I was the guest of honor for the day and they have provided me complementary services. Although I did not get to use all of them, it was a very pleasant experience. The meals were delicious and snacks at the lounge were great also. They have a very nice 'free' bath salt experiences options - was very relaxing. Couple things I would improve are - add more variety to food and keep in mind religious festivals and options in making specialty dishes if needed. Will stay again :)

Exceptional service with a smile!

Great Hotel! Good food!! Exceptional service! We had to stay on short notice for an emergency and found this hotel at a (reasonably) good price. Our room on the 12th floor was comfortable (may be too gaudily decorated for some). The bathroom was a good size with separate enclosed toilet and shower areas within. We found on the second day that the housekeeping team had put slippers and water bottles by the bed for each of us. Anywhere in the hotel, the staff proactively approached us to offer assistance and never did we feel that there were not enough people to take care of us. The staff's willingness to step up and help, take charge and make things happen was unique for any hotel--even compared to some of the other five star properties we have stayed at. It really sets a standard for others to follow. Kudos to the Sofitel team in Mumbai!!!
