Everything was excellent here. Staff was absolutely amazing could not have been more helpful and nice. My only complaint was the mattress was not very comfortable, other than that great place to stay.

Yesterday I had check-in trouble on 2 another hostels, so when I received a checking mail about check-in trouble of Gintama Hotel, I miss understood about 2 others, then sent too bad checked…sorry. All stuffs of Gintama hotel give perfectly service for me. Thank you very much. I wanna stay again.

Great little Boutique Hotel with a very attentive staff! I don’t know how they did it, but I would often sleep in and I was NEVER bothered by housekeeping, without putting up the DND sign on the door! Even at noon, I would go to breakfast and return an hour later to a cleaned room! I loved it!

Very disappointing experience I got a refund after one night. They claim to have 24x7 room service but they don’t have that. There not even a room service menu in the room so basically just don’t have it. The “queen” size bed they claim to have is a full size bed. The bed has flush walls on three sides of it and there’s no power outlet anywhere close to it to charge your phone. It’s all on the first floor, right he windows are blacked out with paper glued to the glass. And you here people playing music and hanging out right outside your window or on the residential floors above. Cabs have a hard time finding it and the only way off the property is to walk up a steep will - probably sub optimal when there’s snow. The bathroom is small. Only shower stall where I kept bumping in to the walls. If you have the water turned on full it starts flooding so use low pressure water so the drain can keeps up. The staff was polite. There’s a picture of Trump in the lobby. Overall experience was not good.

Location was difficult to get to, on some sort of gated street. The walls were very thin and service was not very good - they kept asking when I would check out (the night before I had to check out - hoping to get me out earlier). Noisy and not great.

Loved provided breakfast. Really good food and variety to choose from. Very polite bartender/ attendant. Hated the fact that the shower cabin is the size of my leg. Impossible to turn without hitting the faucet. The rooms are extremely tiny. Some of the staff is extremely nice while others not so much. No gym, and only one story Also no refrigerator, coffee maker or iron unless you are in a suite :(

Lovely place to stay, very friendly and helpful staff. Good location for attractions and restaurants but there is a hill to walk up. Will definitely be staying there again.

Wasn’t even close to 4 star hotel as it was claimed and advertised. Very small cabinet for taking shower. Couldn’t move around in spite of me being slim. Breakfast wasn’t good with a quite diluted coffee included. The only impressive about this hotel was the fine ladies at the reception desk plus it’s proximity to city center.

Small hotel close to centre
Small hotel with elaborate furnishings. Convenientaly situated for Independence Square, metro and other tourist sites. Friendly and accommodating staff. The hotel is situated uphill off a private road on the bottom of a block of flats. Very quiet. Breakfast buffet with very good coffee. Good wifi, TV with English channels.

Mosquitoes and overcharging taxis
Check in was good and staff were friendly until a problem occurred. then attitudes changed. The room was fine although it was small, so not possible to walk either side of the bed, and dark so the light had to be on during the day. On my second night the housekeeper had left the window open and, despite my closing it, there were mosquitoes and other flying insects in the room. I killed six but had by morning no less than ten bites all over my body and had had little sleep. I reported this to the receptionist in the morning but when I returned that afternoon she didn't appear to recall the issue. She then told me that the problem was caused by me and not the housekeeper opening the window. She also told me that the product used to combat flying insects was out of stock and shrugged her shoulders. So that was that. Ten bites and little sleep as a result of staff actions and not even a word of apology. I then requested the receptionist to book a taxi. She told me it would cost 250 uah which I knew to be far in excess of the real cost. I showed her evidence of a lower price on the internet and was told "You can book that. No problem!" I did book it at a price of less than 150 uah. I was left wondering what would have happened to the overpayment of 100 uah and why the hotel is so blatant about only selling a service that overcharges. I won't be staying here again and neither should you.

Our flight was delayed so we arrived around 4AM. But the hotel manager was waiting for us and it took us less than 2 minutes to get into the room. Rooms are clean with all your need including slippers. Breakfast is from 8 to 10. You have pancakes, some fruits and vegetable, yogurt, sausages and fried eggs/omelette. Juice and hot drinks. Staff is very helpful and positive. The hotel is very close to all interest points located in the center of Kiev. So in general very good price to quality ratio.

Great location, but rooms are very small even that we booked for a suite. For a family with 2 children, it was too small. Breakfasts are good. Air conditioner didn't work during all stay, i was told every day that the technician on the way, but somehow it didnt change anything. At the end the problem was in the remote, but again, there was no other remote controls.

Nice hotel but not 4 stars
The hotel is located near the center of town, but it is a bit of a climb and hard to find. The rooms are very small but comfortable and the hotel is quiet. The breakfast is nothing special and if you are not there very early the food is cold. The hotel charges very high prices for Ukraine. I was charged to call a taxi for me. The fee is added to the taxi drivers fare so you do not see it at the hotel. I also made a reservation for an airport pickup to get my girlfriend and the price was changed at the last minute and was much more. I was not informed until it was too late to make a change. The room was clean and the bed was comfortable, but I opened the window for fresh air and then had problems with insects. It is extremely difficult to close the window. The hotel is located next to a beautiful park and in the evening the park is really special. Visit the center of the city after dark because they have an amazing show of fountains and music.
