Nicer outside than inside - good location

Posted Nov 18, 2017
Pros: Staff Cleanlinessmentioned
Cons: Mentioned
Location: Good location Nice beach
This Days Inn is a chain motel in one of the best locations in Maui. The staff was great and the room clean. Little coffee maker was a nice touch. Three things of concern 1). Rusty, non working safe by clothes rod. I had to watch my long clothes didn’t rub on the rust and it meant my husband I had to take turns swimming because there was no safe. 2). The lamp shade by the bed was scorched by the bulb so it made me wonder if it would start a fire if left on. 3). The bathroom lower sink cabinet was screwed shut and needs replaced. Tap worked with hot and cold. This was fine for a couple nights but longer term it would be better to stay nearby somewhere like the Kihei Kai Nani.

staff is not helpful

They did charge me 2 times. $ 907 + $ 510. You should never go there. It is so noisy.

Adjacent to beach

Posted Nov 1, 2017
Pros: Very good location on one of the best beaches in Maui. Two good restaurants on adjoining properties.
Location: You will need to take the bus or car to other restaurant and retail locations.
The property was undergoing extensive renovations causing some inconvenience. Would stay there again.

Economical option close to beach.

Posted Oct 28, 2017
Great value for price. Extra beach towels a plus as is in-room fridge and microwave. Often ran out of coffee for in-room Keurig and parking was a challenge with onsite construction and restaurant “reserving” spaces for their customers. Overflow parking avail next door. Very clean, and housekeeping staff was great. Would stay again.

Major Construction, No water, No refunds

Posted Oct 27, 2017
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything, starting with notification if the hotel will be undergoing construction. No one wants to go on vacation at a construction site.
Major construction was underway during our stay resulting in equipment starting at 7am, workers on the roof above, closed walkways, and no water for one whole day. No notice was provided by the hotel that this would be happening before we booked. We had to leave midway through our stay the construction was so bad. The hotel refuses to give a refund despite the fact that we were not there the last 3 nights of our reservation (we had to move to another hotel). A terrible experience! DO NOT STAY HERE!

Close to the beach but needs update.

Stayed there for 3 nights. First night was horrible due to the noise of the air condition -wasn't able to sleep good- had to turned off on the 2nd and 3rd night and just used the ceiling fan. My husband found small cockroach at the bathroom and I slipped at the pathway by the parking lot due to unevenness of the slope-pathway. Reported to the front desk. But overall, it's ok for the price that we paid.

Multiple cockroaches and lizard

Posted Oct 18, 2017
There were multiple cockroaches in my room. I saw them within an hour of entering the room. I also saw a lizard staring right at me when I first opened the door at entered my room. I spent the whole night in my car because it was too disturbing and disgusting to stay in the room. Terrible experience.

Pros: Really clean, lots of space in the room and a beautiful view.
Cons: Maybe some milk to go in the tea and coffee? Just a long life one would have been great, but no big problem.
Location: Great location off Hana highway.really easy to find. Not too far away to drive to see other stops suggested further down Hana highway.
Clean room with everything we needed for the night. Very comfortable bed. Bathroom was clean and they had nice products to use in the shower. Normally a TV addict to help me wind down after a long day but I loved playing monopoly with my partner and enjoying the sounds of the waves. Great kitchen set up. Able to cook dinner and enjoy it on our deck which felt private from the neighbouring guests on their decks. No air conditioning but the sea provided a cooling breeze at night as did the ceiling fan. Only negative was the people who were leaving early in the morning were loud - woken by suitcases being bashed down the stair cases. Can't be helped. I'd stay here again, loved it!

Awful hotel experience.

Posted Oct 3, 2017
Pros: on the beach
Cons: A lot. See experience for all the problems we encountered.
Arrived on Sunday and checked in fine. Monday we were told we would have to move our car to the gravel, unlit lot behind the hotel because some construction vehicles had to do some work that day. Turns out, they had construction our entire stay. Tuesday we got back to the hotel around noon and had no Electricity until after 3 p.m.! Makes it difficult to charge phones after being at the beach all morning and get ready for dinner. Wednesday we had problems with people smoking in the room next to us (it is a non-smoking hotel) which was filling our room with cigarette smoke. After multiple complaints the hotel informed us that we could move to a different room! So there we are 11 p.m. packing up all our crap to move to a different room because some a-holes were smoking and hotboxing the adjoining room. Thursday we got back in the afternoon to find that the water was shut off. We had a luau to get to at 4 p.m. and here it is at 2:30 p.m. and we have no water to shower. Then to top it off a HUGE cockroach went running across the bathroom floor and under the sink. We were done at this point. The manager offered to refund a single night. In my opinion we had at least 3 days of B.S., but they would budge. Fortunately Expedia was very understanding and took care of the other 2 nights for us as well as a credit to book somewhere else for the last night of our trip.
