Condo Units near beach -- watch out for A/C

Posted Aug 14, 2017
Pros: Roomy unit, well outfitted, good location.
Cons: Upgrade A/C or advertise as not air conditioned.
Location: Well located in touristy Keahi section of Maui across street from public beach. Unit has partial ocean view.
This is a condo not a hotel. Our unit was individually owned and managed by a company separate from the property manager so difficult to know who you were doing business with. Unit was very good with one major exception, The feature list for the unit said it was air conditioned but the single window A/C unit was completely overpowered by the summer heat. Only part of the main room was cool, the other rooms including the bedrooms were hot and uncomfortable. The management company offered fans but the unit already had 4 fans there. We pulled our mattresses to the front room to be near the A/C. Too bad, otherwise well kept and roomy unit in a very good close-to-beach location.

Awesome!

The unit we stayed provided us with everything we could possibly need. From beach chairs, toys, and umbrella, to linens, detergent and kitchen supplies. Very impressed.

Very nice location, close to beach, shopping

Posted Jul 9, 2017
Pros: I liked the location of Kamaole Sands, it was close to the beach, shopping and dining. The area was family friendly and seemed very safe.
Cons: The front desk clerks can check you in, but they should be able to help everyone no matter who you rented the condo from with issues that may come up.
Location: The beach across the street was very nice and the huge public park was great for kids, it had a nice roller rink and playground overlooking the ocean
The Kamaole Sands is a good property for the budget traveler, it was nice and safe and in a good location. the only concern I had was that I rented from a private owner, the front desk could not help me out with any issues that came up. They just handed me a phone number and told me to call the owner. The property manager was very good, they took care of the issues in a timely manner. The condo has no central air so it was hot in the bedroom and the pillows and linen were dirty and had to be changed out. The pool area was very nice and the grounds are well taken care of. I would stay here again.

Great deal

Posted Apr 20, 2017
Cheaper than nearby hotels, close to beach and shops/restaurants, beautiful grounds. Use of laundry, kitchen, and beach gear. Netflix and DVD player included. Best of all, no clean-up at the end! Great deal overall and plan to return.

Great condos near beach and restaurants

Posted Mar 5, 2017
Cons: There were no obvious recycling bins and the staff seemed confused about this. Eventually I found them but they should be made obvious.
Location: There are grocery stores nearby and the Paia Fish Market restaurant was excellent.
This place exceeded my expectations; the condo was comfortable and very clean and equiped as promised. The grounds were beautiful and the atmosphere was quiet. The beaches are right across the street and the shops/restaurants are nearby.

Nice hotel but units aren't uniform

Posted Mar 2, 2017
Grounds are lovely and well-maintained. Nice location across from Kam III Beach. Most units have only a wall A/C unit in the living room. Southern exposure can make ground floor bedroom in 2bd/2 ba units very warm. Our unit, 10-405, sorely needed owner attention--or a different prop mgr. Dirty floor, torn bed skirt and quilt, not enough wash cloths and face towels, dirty A/C filter, etc.

Traveling with family

The apartment had lots of space and a lot more details (kitchen stuff, body boards, beach towels) than at the Aston we've stayed but it was older and you don't get the daily cleaning. They were somewhat strict with the playing in the pool (lots of rules) and I noticed a lot more older people than at a regular hotel, maybe they don't want to disturb the people without kids?
