I was very displeased with the state of the property. Our non-smoking room smelled of smoke upon entry with a combination of cleaner and paint trying to cover it up. You could tell there was a recent and rushed paint over job to cover up damaged walls, cracks, peeling drywall and paint over paint. Shower curtain couldn't stay on the rod and kept falling off. Safety fixtures in the bathroom were loose and felt unsafe to rely on getting in and out of shower. There was a distinct lack of furniture. We had a double queen suite and the room with the beds just had beds, a night stand between and a TV/Dresser. No chairs or extra lamp. It felt uncomfortably empty. We stayed the night before and after the eclipse and put out a TON of money. Now I don't expect a Days Inn Plus to equal the 4 figure sum we paid for two nights, but it seemed like a poor value to the Red Roof Inn we stayed as the following night. I would not stay at this location again. No Gym as it was under repair (past the date stated on the door) and breakfast was subpar. Breakfast was until 9am, but at 8:20am there was no more food left and they would not make any more because management didn't want to waste anything. "If we started making more food, it would sit past 9am and we would waste it" Never mind the fact that dozens more people came looking for food after I asked.

The checkin reception guy was rude and acted like we were putting him out by asking if there was a room available. At first he said there wasn’t one but I knew there was because I had checked Expedia first. He said- oh, we like to keep a spare room in case of emergencies. Then he made me book it on Expedia instead of with him. But- the hotel has very nice rooms and is new so we overlooked this turd.

Overall the property is very great but the only thing I didn’t like was the WiFi the WiFi signal was below par. Everything else was great staff were really polite and respectful

Comfortable in Killeen
Convenient to all things Killen/Ft Cavazos, but backs to a field where the road ends to park tour buses. One night there was a party that went on till 10:30pm in the parking lot. We were there for several days so we found things one-night travelers might not notice-certain plugs not functioning, iron not working, odor upon entering the room (perhaps animal or sour milk), no extra blankets. The front staff was always kind and helpful when possible! The beds were comfortable and clean. In spite of the party, we would return again.

Clean and quiet. I stayed for 4 days they only had coffee at breakfast the first day. They said the truck didnt restock them. Never bothered to put up a sign or anything had to find out daily by getting hot water dispensed into a cup.Big disappointment because I chose this hotel for the breakfast and coffee.

This is not to discount the staff as they were friendly and helpful. The room that I was placed in was not clean and a lot of things were not prepared as a new person would come in. This was disappointing.

Run Away Quickly
The hotel is disgusting and dirty. The carpet in our room has never been cleaned. The bathroom was falling apart and dirty. The room smelled like bad body odor. To the point that poopouri wouldn’t even help. To top it off the electricity went off at 230am on our second and last night. The hotel is a disaster and we will not ever be back. If my parents had not stayed in the same hotel. I would have left.

We stayed three nights while visiting family and enjoyed the time at Best Western. At first I thought the bed was too firm but soon realized that ours at home is probably too soft. My husband had breakfast every morning and said that as long as you went early it was adequate. I do have to say that the pod coffee pot is a wonderful improvement. We will be staying here again on our next visit. Thanks!
