Hotel in Killington, Vt.

Posted Aug 3, 2017
We owned a townhouse on the Killington Acess Rd. for 15 years. We are familiar with many of the hotels and restaurants on this road. It is an excellent skiing area. We picked this hotel because it had an indoor and outdoor swimming pool. Also a 20 person hot tub outside with 2 fire pits. The Killington Mtn. Lodge is on a challenging golf course and in the summer you can still ride the gondola to the top of the mtn. Around the other side of the mtn. there's a huge lake area (seems like 3 lakes) backed up by a mature Hemlock Forest. You have quick access to the towns of Woodstock and Queche. We go up every summer for a week to visit all the places we enjoyed when we owned our townhouse. We will continue to stay at this lovely lodge.

The only concern I had was the towels that were stuffed in the window to help block the cold

Close to the mountain, lots of restaurants

Posted Apr 25, 2017
Pros: Fireplace, hot tub, comfortable beds, usual amenities, great free breakfast, proximity to skiing. Management was very concerned about helping us.
Cons: Soundproofing, minor maintenance, indoor pool area.
Location: Skiing, hiking, bars, restaurants.
First night was a Spring Break party, past 11pm. There were kids running up and down the halls, vomiting and smoking. Someone else had a barking dog down another hall. (Note to self: next time, ask if pets are allowed. I'm allergic. WAsn't a problem in our rooms, but I've had trouble in past) We asked management for help, they talked to the group, but it took a few tries to get the party to stop. The police were called. Not management's fault. But the walls ARE thin. Could hear everything. Balcony next to us also filled with people, next to our window. Management offered to move us, but it was late, so we moved the next day to a quieter spot in the hotel. For our troubles, management also offered us dinner. Spring break kids also toiletpapered the hot tub on Sunday. Note to self: don't vacation on spring break. But tip to hotel: any way to better soundproof the rooms? I could even smell the pot thru the walls. No sound problems in second room. First bathroom had peeling paint on the ceiling. The second bathroom was fine. This hotel could be updated, but it was cozy. Fireplaces in lobby and the bar area, outdoor hot tub in the colder months was nice, with a little fire pit there. indoor Pool didn't seem welcoming, not well lit, and storage stuff near the wall, so we avoided it. Outdoor pool closed for the season. Breakfast was great, including waffle bar, sausages, homemade muffins, good jam, real maple syrup. Nice tea selection, good coffee. Even a free movie theater!

Comfortable stay

Posted Apr 20, 2017
The hotel is close to Killington and all amenities. It has a familiar feeling, like coming home. No pretense, no formality. The staff is courteous, friendly and real. There are many nooks to be found on each floor where families can relax and have private conversations, and the atmosphere and décor were elegant. I will definitely be returning.

Fairly good place, a tad $ for its condition

Posted Apr 16, 2017
Reasonably pleasant hotel with good amenities and services. No complaints just an observation , that the entry area outside and inside could be spiffed up. The asphalt is all cracked and the front doors need either replacement or restoration.

Reasonable lodging down the street from themountai

Posted Apr 13, 2017
We were visiting from california and made a side trip to check out some Vermont Spring skiing. This is a pretty decent place with some nice stone fireplaces which were not on when we went there in mid April. The room is very basic but adequate. Thermostat was not active so we could not turn off the sweltering heat. Handles on windows had been removed so we could not open them more than a crack. No fan was available. The upstairs lounge has some cool games such as janga and connect four. They have a mini movie theater where you can watch free movies with free popcorn. The food available was very minimal as well but adequate for our needs. They did have complementary hot chocolate and coffee all day long as well as a very nice free breakfast including make your own waffles. Our waffle did get stuck to the waffle iron but it still tasted good. If we ever go to Killington again we will probably come here again. On a side note, Killington in April is a joke compared to Mammoth.
