dated but cozy

Pros: The staff, the price, reasonable proximity to downtown if you are driving, long walk if you are not.
Cons: Meal for dinner was cafeteria quality out of box wings. Service was good. Staff are pleasant and friendly.
The hotel is definitely circa 80's decor and the popcorn ceiling showed the history of a few too many leaks. The signature room fireplaces were a nice touch but not something we could enjoy in May. I assume these gas fireplaces work but cannot confirm. It seems they are pet friendly. Its about a 7 minute drive downtown and 12 minutes to RMC.

Nice hotel

Hotel was nice. Staff are super friendly and there is a grocery store next to it. The fitness facility isn't the greatest. It could use more equipment. The room in general was clean but there was a huge stain on the carpet which could be cleaned. Turn off when you are in the room and the heat kept jumping throughout the night and it was hot. Also could hear rattling in the vent. The restaurant and bar was great

Although slightly dated, this hotel is very clean and comfortable. It has spacious rooms and comfortable mattresses. The continental breakfast is also very good. Staff are helpful and friendly. I usually pick this hotel at which to stay when I am in Kingston.

Great place to stay in Kingston

Had a very nice stay. Liked the fireplace in the room. It added a nice touch to the style of the entire hotel. Alac, the person on duty for night shift, was very helpful and friendly. He was very friendly at the end of a long day.

Very Friendly & Pleasing Staff

Pros: Free Parking, free breakfast!!!
The staff in the hotel were very friendly and very helpful with requests. The restaurant staff were very friendly and also had helpful suggestions. We were impressed. The room was clean and the beds were comfortable.

stay while house huning.

Cons: better temperature control of rooms. More variety for breakfast.
Location: not much to do nearby without driving.
Room was too warm . Our car was damaged in the parking lot. May not stay there again as we are upset about the car.

Loved it. So kitschy. Tom's Place is definitely not for vegans / animal lovers but their gin + tonic was on point. Room was big. Fireplace was adorably fake. Wish we could have ordered a movie on the tv but it was cable only.

Clean, excellent service, and clearly has had effort put into renovations. Unfortunately, the original size of bathroom is limited, and the walls are not soundproofed... Could clearly hear people talking in the hall, and the sound of water running in our bathroom and the one above was quite loud in the bedroom area. Breakfast was included, which was very nice to have, though it would have been nice to have fresher fruit. All this said, the value was very good, the service was excellent, and hotel very clean, and the room had a lot of charm, including brick fireplace. I'd definitely stay here again.

Stop Over

A great place for a short stay. It's close to the 401 and our room was large, cozy and very clean. Tom's Place restaurant is warm, inviting and our waiter, Christian, was very helpful.
