Renovated hotel in the cut but near storesPosted Oct 1, 2015
Pros: Thata expedia messed up my reservation and that I didn't have to pay for it
Cons: They need to do about another 1.9 million with a serious decor teAm to say it been renovated
Location: There Are stores another and shabby hotel and again the pArking lot of this hotel is like a trucker stop
The hotel has been renovated the design is weird pool, gym and game room all near rooms where people sleep if you are black and we were , the entire town will look as if they seen ghost found a friendly women at the bop to bottom store walmart had 3 blacks we were 1 and 2 kingston is a very weird place on earth Obviously, The bathrooms were not detailed clean the light switches were dirty, The pillows well let me just say bring your own if you like fluffy big pillows these pillows were air flat soon as you lay on them they go flat the worst pillows in the world The breakfast was good many of the people who was serving the brackets couldn't speak English but at least they were able to wash their hands and serve good breakfast. Overall I give the hotel a 3.8 stars if they don't keep it up with what they have done with the current renovations the hotel can easily be gone back down in the next several years and the reason I say that because I'm a perfectionist and looking at some of the renovations as it wasn't really done the quality that was worth $1 million some of the Ceilings were restucco over and if you look really good in the windowsills you can tell how shabby the hotel really was so it was a cover up job with nice furnishings and a lot of different furniture carpet in colors and the dining and eating area like it was hotel liquidators tv was a nice size and the microwave and fridge was a nice touch step above a ringy dinky hotel it needs about 1 million more put in it

Quiet, well-maintained hotelPosted Sep 29, 2015
This is a clean, recently renovated hotel, close to the Thruway, but feels like you are in the country - one side of the property borders Esopus Creek, and it is set back far from the main road. Staff were fabulous.

Hotel was in the middle of no where. Small room.Posted Sep 21, 2015
Okay if you absolutely must be in the area. I found the rooms small, dark and a little depressing to be honest. Not my cup Of tea. Room was clean and beds comfortable though.

Hotel unsatisfactoryPosted Sep 18, 2015
the hotel staff should have been more professional. Hotel staff appearance was sloppy.. Shirts un buttoned and not clean and neat and the knowledge of learning their own reservation system was terrible. They could not find my reservation even after I showed them my confirmed reservation. After about 15-20 minutes they found my reservation without even taking my confirmation #. Then there was a major leak coming from upstairs and into the room so luckily it was time check out time for at 6am in the morning!!

Renovated since last yearPosted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: Free breakfast included. The A/C wasn't Noisy.
Cons: Didn't notice anything to improve on this visit!
Location: Tucked away. You don't hear the traffic noise from the highway. Close enough to the Round-Out for a quick drive there.
The hotel is much nicer than a year ago. Many renovations have been completed. The service was very good.

Overall We Enjoyed Our StayPosted Aug 8, 2015
Pros: Proximity to thruway and downtown Kingston. The other updated hotels are in shopping malls off of 9W due to recent building regulations- big problem.
Cons: The inner court is very warm with high humidity. There is a strong smell of chlorine from the pool. Better ventilation needed.
Location: Downtown Kingston and Roundout Canal nearby. Book Store. Historic town of Hurley, Artist community.
This is the former Holiday Inn. We stayed there many times over the years. The hotel recently had a much needed renovated and was taken over by Best Western Plus. The rooms were updated, clean and for the most part comfortable. The beds were new with linens that were changed every day. One problem is that the beds are platform beds and they are too high. I am 5'7" and my husband is 6' and yet we were not able to sit on the beds and touch the floor. This is a safety concern for seniors and especially children. The bathroom too are totally updated. However, there are no tub. The shower design calls for a half- door which does not move. You can only turn on the tap while standing inside the shower and when you turn on the tap, you are hit with a cold flow of water. There is a very small soap dish. There is no place to put shampoo, conditioner or body wash bottles. Even the provided smaller bottles do not fit. There is no place to hang used towels, bathing suits to dry. We found the restaurant breakfast to be OK. However, we had dinner in the dining room and the meals were really good. The staff in the dining room and bar were very helpful and accommodating. The staff at the front desk were also helpful. I am allergic to both cats and dogs and we wanted to be in a quiet area away from the game room and pool. I called ahead and they arranged to put us in a non-pet room on the creek side. Finally, the center courts needs better ventilation.

Clean comfy beds nice bathroom . Vent only exists as intercom to bath next door. Interior room view and sounds from arcade in middle of building would prefer window to outdoors
