Great location

Excellent location in Kingston. Walking distance to lots of restaurants and shops. The pool and hot tub were closed during our stay. That is something we look forward to, so I wish we had been informed at booking. The room was nice and clean and we had a beautiful view of the water. The King sized bed was very comfortable. We found the hotel room key to be difficult to use and it stopped working after the first night (as did the key of a guest down the hall from us). We did easily get that fixed by going back down to the lobby. The gates to the parking lot were broken all weekend, not that it really affected our stay. Though we knew about it, the parking charge seems a bit steep at $17/night extra. The breakfast buffet at the hotel was quite good and had a nice selection.

We must close the pool once a year for maintenance and we try to do it when it will least effect our guests. Great location... Big $$$

The room was nice, clean and the location perfect. The washroom light was at the front door and the bottom of the tub was spongey. I think the washroom needs an overhaul. Hotel staff were very helpful and Saturday morning brunch fantastic. For the money, I would expect more though. Maybe with Queens nearby the market price is what it is.

Not what we expected!!

The room are not very clean..check in was great..thank you expedia..however when u pay that much money to stay and to have to PAY for parking..and they put the hockey team on our floor=loudd..will not be back

Regarding the noisy kids, the Rogers Krock Arena is a large hockey arena located close by, which attracts numerous tournaments. Over the winter season hockey competitions run almost every weekend. Each team member must sign a “Code of Conduct” and generally groups are respectful, however, occasionally it takes only a few to ruin it for many. While we do retain security to assist in the monitoring of these groups it appears we were unsuccessful in maintaining an acceptable level of control. Re-investments in facilities and motor car area.

Cons: Complete renovation.
Location: Location is outstanding.
Place definitely needs an upgrade. That says about it all.

Barely a 3 Star - needs updating, poor value

Positives: location, pool, staff was friendly Negatives: hotel is old and needs updating (exterior of hotel was likely refaced which belies its internal age), Lobby is small, bathroom was very small and old (toilet was tiny), black mold visible on bathtub tiles, shower head needed to be cleaned/replaced, had to ask for room to be cleaned "better" twice, used pool towels piled up around pool, "gym" was in the same room as pool so very humid for exercising (two cheap fans provided), value was poor (approx $170 CAD per night)
