Nice older hotel; convenient location.

Posted Nov 19, 2017
Pros: Service and location
Cons: Black mold on bathroom wall
Location: Ferry to Wolfe Island is beside the hotel. Princess Street is a main shopping street. Good restaurants within easy walking distance.
Service was good. Location is convenient. Dining room is good. Room was satisfactory but bathroom tiled wall behind bathtub had black old in corner and between tiles. Cleaning or renovation are needed for health and safety.

OK

Posted Nov 16, 2017
Pros: Price. Car park- plenty of space
Cons: Decor- needs renovation and upgrading- lacked any style or comfort
Location: Great- downtown Kingston. Walkabilty- good
Price was reasonable- you get what you pay for. Hotel slightly shabby e.g, worn carpets, aged paint, smell of chlorine from pool. Bathroom very disappointing- lacked any comfort, very utilitarian.

Watch out for hockey tournament weekends

Posted Nov 10, 2017
Despite asking for a quieter location our room was in the middle of several hockey teams. Hockey in the hallways, yelling kids at 5:30 a.m., hockey parents having a hall party, etc. Far too expensive for a run down hotel.

Hello Amuck, We do apologize that your stay was disrupted by the teams in house. Due to the large number of hockey rinks in Kingston, it is a common place for hockey tournaments to happen. We always try our best to ensure that all of our guests are able to enjoy their stay, it appears we were unable to do this for you. We do hope you will return so we can show you our true level of service. Sincerely, Felicia Cadotte Assistant Guest Services Manager

Nice place.

Posted Nov 3, 2017
Pros: Great customer service, great location.
Location: Easy to find. 15 minutes from the 401.
We stayed on a particularly busy weekend. A big wedding and lots of Hallowe'en stuff going on. We stayed on the first floor and where hoping for a view of the lake which the hotel could not accommodate. To make up for it they offered us a free breakfast which was a nice gesture. The room was clean and spacious. The beds were unbelievably comfortable. The hotel is steps away from the water and the downtown core. Parking costs were an additional $17.00 Cdn.

Business Stay

Posted Oct 31, 2017
Pros: The views and amenities
Cons: Penalty free cancellations
Location: waterfront path, restaurants along Princess st, King st, brook st, and ontario street. There is lots to do downtown.
Holiday Inn provided a quality room with exceptional views and amenities. I was in Kingston for 2 nights on business and enjoyed my stay.

Our stay was pleasant. The hotel is close to a lot of restaurants and shops. It's on the water. Some rooms have great views - we looked out into the river...but could hear the cars on the metal causeway throughout the night. The staff was pleasant and room was very neat and clean. Would have been nice to have a fridge and a safe in the room. It was very handy being able to book via Expedia.

Waterfront hotel

Pros: Closeness to downtown and to the lake.
Location: Excellent waterfront location, close to many restaurants and to the tourist information office.
We enjoyed our stay in the hotel, and were glad that our family members were able to have 3 adjacent rooms.

Did not get the room we booked online.

Posted Oct 19, 2017
Pros: Location was good.
Cons: See above
Location: Walking distance to many city activities and restaurants. Kingston Pen tour and Prison Museum are cool.
We booked a corner room with a view of river and bay and did not get that. No microwave in room as advertised. Staff opens door when do not disturb sign is hung outside door. Fridge totally frosted up so did not cool items. We are used to better from Holiday Inn.
