Have a baby? Go here - no question!

Posted Aug 29, 2013 on Hotels
We were absolutely thrilled with our week stay at Babymio. The staff went above and beyond expectations, the food was great and fresh, and nothing could compete with the scenery of the Tyrolean Alps. Our almost 9 month old had everything he needed - a crib, changing table, age-appropriate toys, a bath robe...The selection of baby food at the baby food buffet was great (plus for a small surcharge you could order fresh baby food). We didn't end up using the babysitting services - the timing just didn't work out for us - but we would love to go back and take advantage of it. The play areas are amazing for the babies and young children. You are assigned a table for the duration of your stay and the table is set with the appropriate seating for your little one(s). The area in general has kilometers upon kilometers of flat terrain running/walking/cycling paths. What an amazing find - all provided by a family with a rich history of hospitality service. This hotel was started in 2007 by a family with four young kids - so they knew what to provide. We would heartily recommend this hotel to any family with young children/babies. You really can relax here!

Fantastic week away at the babymio

I hesitate to write this review only because I don't want the babymio to become so popular that we aren't able to book a room next year! We went with our 5 year old and 18 month old and the hotel was perfect for our needs. The rooms are nicely furnished, not luxury, but everything you need and are keep nice and clean by the pleasant staff. As the name suggests, the hotel caters to families with small children. The dining room has food for babies under two, has sippy cups, children's plates and silverware and usually there's something just for kids during the evening meal. That said, the food is excellent. Roast meats, fish, pasta, vegetables cooked just right, salads, pate, cheese plate, dessert, and I could go on. Breakfast offers everything American/British and European you could want. Lunch is salad and something simple and delicious, like soup or pasta. The hotel itself has a childrens' play room, an evening movie or activity and child care at certain times, all included in the price of the room. We were able to leave the 18 month old in daycare and go skiing. The hotel also has sleds, strollers, a ski storage room with boot warmers and a nice heated pool for the end of the day. Beer, wine and drinks are served so Mom and Dad can have apres ski with the little ones right in sight and no need to drive home. babymio is located at Kirchdorf Ski area. There's a ski school there and a small ski area. You can take the ski bus or drive to several other ski mountains in the area, including Kitzbuehl. We find the whole area to be a good value for the money. We plan to return in 2013! My only caveat is that it may be a bit difficult if you speak NO German. Our German is not great, but we managed just fine. Some of the staff do not speak any English, including the young women in the daycare. The owners, the Seiwalds, are incredible nice and accommodating, so I am sure they would assist if required.
