I cannot say how the property was because of an extremely delayed flight from Surabaya on Lion Air. However, I would have loved to meet the staff after receiving the kind welcome message before my planned arrival.

I had the best stay in this property. For my surprise , it was just 8 minutes by walk and you catch the best view Opera House and Harbour Bridge . It’s really close to train station and easy street parking!

Understand that this is a lodge, not a hotel. There are (most likely) stairs to your room and there are shared bathrooms (although you can book a room with an ensuite). If you understand this when you book you won't be disappointed. I stayed in a room with an ensuite. The lodge is quite, rooms are clean and it is very convenient by ferry to work in the city and with easy walking distance to coffee, restaurants and groceries. I have stayed here before and would stay here again. Always a great place when here for business and hardly needing to be in the room.

Charming place located close to the ferries. It does get a little annoying if you are planning to go downtown frequently as you likely have to take the ferry every time or walk 15 mins to the nearest train station. My room was a double with a balcony. I loved the balcony and thought it was very cute. Good property for a few days and breakfast is included. Only thing I did not like was the cockroach that jumped on me in the middle of the night. It was huge!

Glenferrie Lodge is in a beautiful area with stunning views on a nearby harbour side walk. The grounds of property are green and welcoming. The rooms have aircon but you can also open the windows and use a ceiling fan if u like. Shared bathrooms are clean and easily accessible. There are shared balconies and a garden to enjoy for all guests. Friendly staff and an excellent value breakfast with full range of hot and cold options. The surrounding area is pretty with historic walks if u like, and cafes and restaurants are close by. A simple ferry ride will get u across the harbour to the city if that’s what you’re after. Highly recommended for a night or a week.

This was a great property! Outside of the hustle and bustle, but just a short ferry ride to the center of Sydney. Breakfast was great, and eating area was spacious. The room was comfortable and clean.

Beautiful location, so if you’re not from Australia, it may be perfect for you. However, there were quite a few fails from me. Their own website boasts a café & playground. There is no café & a weathered old cubby house. I was told that I would not be charged for a black coffee, no sugar at breakfast, but ended up being charged $15! I requested an accessible room for my disability. Although I was ‘upgraded’ from a room with 2 single beds to a room with 3 single beds, there were too many issues. The interior handle fell off the door - it had been held in place with toilet paper! The shared bathroom was nearly impossible to use and so filthy that I refused to shower there. The exhaust fans were so full of dust that the window was permanently open - onto an outdoor area where people could watch you. The hallway had the same rubbish lying in it for the duration of our stay. They key card stopped working, which required many trips up & down stairs to have fixed. Stay here if you’re happy with backpacker-type accommodation, minus actual dorms.

Glenferrie Lodge is an affordable option for a stay close to Circular Quay in Sydney. It’s very convenient to hop on a ferry to the Sydney Opera House area. We enjoyed the hot breakfast included with our rate. Kirribilli is a beautiful part of Sydney and we enjoyed exploring the area. The challenge for us was having to share a bathroom. It was fine for a short stay.

Any room has some issues -no working TV,or conditioner, or broken lock etc. Breakfast are so mediocre its not deserve to be even review:no selection -each and every day just ONE option How they advertise themself as 4 stars lounge is beyond understanding. Only bright side is really good cleaning stuff and hysterical location

The location is wonderful, quiet and safe area with a nice village feel. Room was clean and bed was very comfortable. The best thing of all was the complementary breakfast buffet in the courtyard. You can't beat that! I loved it so much. Only negative experience was that one of the staff was very rude. When I asked her politely to take a photo of me with my camera, she looked annoyed and said "What? Now!? Can you come back later?" with a harsh tone. It is pity, because all other staff were kind and friendly.

This property has much character and old world lodging charm and it has been cared for over the decades. when there was a noise issue with a guest the staff acted on it immediately in the middle of the night. As a solo woman traveller I felt safe in the building and the neighbourhood. Be aware of your sounds as this is an old building and noises carry easily. I totally loved the proximity to Sydney ferries. thank you

Very convenient and quiet, as ferry wharf close by, so easy access to the city. Room is old and small, but as we’re out all day, we only needed somewhere to sleep. Great breakfast!

24 steps to climb up to reception and 2 flights of stairs more ti get to our room. No lift. No warning about that in the information provided. Coffee at breakfast to weak. A part from that, it was nice, we enjoyed our quick stay.
