Is no longer a hotel
This is not an active hotel. Remove from site. I booked this hotel online. A couple hours before check-in time, I received a phone call - said from hotel, asked what time I was checking in, was very sketch, then said they had a flood at hotel and so were sending me elsewhere - ended up staying at Hampton Inn down the road. So before heading to Hampton, I drove to this hotel to see what was up. Looks kind of run down, no cars in parking, homeless guy out front. I start talking to him and he tells me the place is a shelter for homeless now, no longer run as a hotel! Why do they still have it on hotel sites for booking???

Got transfered to Fairfield Inn due to flood problem at Holiday Inn Express, but overall good. An issue with toilet not filling tank, had to close and open manual valve to make it work

We ended up staying at the Hampton Inn and suites which was great as they phones us from the Holiday inn on the way to Guelph to say they had water damage to our room and had to relocate us

Unfortunately we were able to book this hotel without any notification that it has been transformed into a shelter. We were not made aware until arrived and one of the shelter staff informed us. We were then told to go to the Hampton Inn and suites, which did not have a room for us. Finally we were transferred to a room across town and made it into bed after midnight. Not an acceptable experience.

Get ready to pay a lot for not much.
The check in employee was, dismissive, rude and unhelpful when we couldn't find any handicapped parking for my husband. She thought "maybe" if we walked around the back there might be more spots. Lots and lots of "member parking", however. Our reservation was changed to Hilton Hampton Suites because of renovations happening at Holiday Inn and we were to get a comparable room. It was dingy. The bathroom had no fan and was awfully tiny, awful bathtub for a very tiny person only, beds incredibly soft (that's good for some, I guess). For $350 for a night, we got not much, poor service.

I booked a room at the Holiday Inn - Guelph and arrived to the hotel feeling very uncomfortable and unsafe. There were several groups of “shady” looking people in the parking lot and others in front of the building were smoking drugs. The lobby was dirty and looked like it was non-operationable. I was greeted by 2 friendly volunteers that asked if they could help me and I told them I wanted to check-in (although at this point I was really wanting to turn around and leave and find another place to stay). They said this hotel is a homeless shelter and all customer Holiday Inn reservations are being honored at the Hampton Inn and Suites a few kms away. So I walked quickly back to my car and drove to the Hampton Inn and Suites. It took a while for the nice lady to find my reservation but I was relieved when she finally did. Nice room, comfortable bed and an awesome hot breakfast. But this review is not for Hampton Inn and Suites - it’s for the Holiday Inn. Why are you accepting reservations and then redirecting people? Why make me walk through that “shady” parking lot and into the homeless shelter lobby?

The Holiday Inn ended up having a maintenance issue with our room several hours before our check-in time. They called and rebooked us with plenty of advance notice at the nearby Hampton. The young man at the front desk was so welcoming to our family. We had a great stay and felt well taken care of.

Very unsatisfied with my stay. It was not very clean. Mirrors were so dirty. Headboard had splash marks of something on it!! Stains on towels and sheets. We had the executive suite and it was not what we wanted. No jacuzzi tub it was an air tub which are not the same. Got called at 9 pm to go and fix something on the bill. Just not a good experience at all.

Wasn’t anything special. Clean. Small pool. No great view from our room but we weren’t expecting that. Room was very hot. The staff tried to fix it. But couldn’t. Hotel was booked so we couldn’t get another room.

Very friendly, helpful service! Our room was immaculate and quiet. The pool and spa area was very enjoyable...we had it to ourselves. Bed was very compfortable. Want to return just for fun! Thanks so much😊👍

No blinds
I will first say that the receptionist was a very nice person and tried his best to accommodate. The room was basic but facing the street on the second floor. The first thing I did when I got to the room was to shut the black out blinds when I realized the black out blinds did not shut and were just stylistic. The only thing that shut was the sheer blinds. Obviously as this was facing the street it let light in and I wasn’t able to change unless going to the washroom. I asked to be changed rooms and the receptionist had looked in several rooms but had confirmed that the blinds did not shut in any rooms. I had a horrible night sleep which was not what I had wanted sleeping in a hotel for one night for business.

The Shower in the accessible room was awkwardly laid out. If I sat on the bench I couldn’t reach the shower head or faucet. I had to use my own bench. Poor design.

Room smelt
My room was located by the pool so my room smelt like chlorine and it gave me a headache. There was also ants in the bathrooms. The bed was comfortable though. i just wouldn’t stay in that specific room again. I didn’t complain because it was already pretty late.
