Good facilities, amazing views, out of town.

We booked the half-board option. On the first night we waited to be seated for dinner. We were escorted past the lofty main dining room (with its glorious views) and into a sort of corridor or ante-room, where 3 other hapless couples were already having dinner, and, like us no doubt, wondering what they had done to deserve the naughty corner. I was sympathetic to the fact that the hotel was busy (and we were fairly late), but my patience was soon exhausted when we were told this was to be our table for the rest of our stay, as the restaurant proper was "fully booked." A glimmer of hope that we might be integrated into polite society was held out for us on the "day after the day after tomorrow." Choosing not to wait for our opportunity to star in a bad Bond sequel, we headed into Kitzbuhel on subsequent evenings and ate well in a variety of great places for little more than the price of the house wine we ordered on that first evening in the naughty corner. The area is gorgeous, the hotel impressive, but our stay was marred by this experience and we will stay elsewhere next time. Being on holiday for us is about relaxation and we have no interest in competing for resource, particularly not something as simple as a decent table for dinner.
