Nothing special about this property, but one terrible thing that stood out so much is the noise situation.
I booked the hotel for my stay with my daughter to visit the UTK campus, having read good reviews online.
However when we checked in the receptionist named Aaron offered me the room 315. He didn't mention that the room was facing the main street and the noise from the street will be a problem.
However when we entered the room we noticed that there are two pair of ear plugs on the night stand. We then immediately noticed that our room was across a large church building. We settled down and tried to go to sleep but the engine noise from the passer by vehicles were so loud we had to resort to use the ear plugs. The ear plugs were not comfortable and didn't help completely to block out the noise.
In the morning I was woke up by loud chimes of bells from the church across the street. I didn't sleep well at all.
I think management of this hotel should stay in the room themselves for a night and then decide whether it is adequate to charge money for anyone to stay in such a room.
I am not happy that the front desk didn't ask me for input when placing us in such a terribly noisy room. I am also not happy that the hotel management thinks by offering a pair of ear plugs will suffice.
I want to warn all future travelers that if you want a good night sleep, stay away from this hotel.
