We paid quite a bit of money to stay here and even though we were not expecting 5 star, the basic essentials are not included in this rate. Wifi was dreadful, no english Shows on the tv, staff would only notice to serve us when the manager was around, no room service and the rooms were basic. Location is a great spot but the rate should be way cheaper to match the quality.

The location of the hotel is excellent. It is at the centre of the chaweng Beach . on the beach. Close to many different recreation and dining options. The hotel has a very basic breakfast Rates at the hotel bar are a little pricey.

Party here but stay somewhere else
The thumping base music starts at 2:pm and goes nonstop until 2:am there is no escape from it so if you are under 25 years old and want to party till you puke every night this is the place to stay. It however was a total sausage fest for our entire stay except or maybe including the ladyboys who show up after midnight to see what they can find. This place also does not accept credit cards so you can forget charging to your room. There is no advantage to staying here but you can be guaranteed you will not be sleeping before 3:am on any night.

Stayed with wife. The good: the staff is really nice and the check in/out experience was great, fast and friendly. The staff are really nice and smile all the time. The location is the best place you can get. Right in the middle and if you like night life this is the place to be no doubt. The pool is amazing and has a bar in the water - the dining area is right on the beach and always alive so it’s really nice to sit there. they have another pool just for guests which is great. a beach area where you can go in the ocean with showers outside to wash before you jump back in the pool. It’s really nice and relaxing. (If you rent a scooter they have parking too, travel guides for activities and ATM) ...they have pool tables, Good DJ’s and music. The Bad: well... I wouldn’t say bad. Nothing is bad there. Some people say it’s noisy but it is a party hotel (the best one). they have rooms that are further away so it’s not noisy and they do close the music at 2AM - you’re probably awake at that time anyway) The food and drinks are expensive - but hey..it’s nice to sit there. The fire shows are great but sometimes the smell of the gasoline can be too much. Yes you do hear airplanes since it’s close to the airport. But you hear them in every hotel. TOO MANY DUDES !!! (They need to give women half price or free drinks) To sum it up: Amazing experience the choice of this hotel was great. Central with walking everywhere Would I return ? Definitely !!!

Yes, we do advertise to be a top party spot in Chaweng, so one can expect it to be loud, but like you said, with over 300 rooms, we have more private and quiet rooms to choose from too (But this must be mentioned at the time of booking so we can be sure of availability) One thing that we are most proud of is our staff. For the number of people that they cater to daily, they still have fun at work and give our guests the best service. Close to the night life and restaurants. Close to the beach. Bed was not so soft. I hated that my balcony looks directly into the room directly across the walkway. All the rooms with balcony did that.

My friends and I had a great time at ARK Bar. The rooms were clean and spacious, the showers were appropriately hot, and there weren't many bugs inside (hard to do in the tropical climate!) The one downside for people who may be sensitive to this is the music blasting at the beach can be heard from rooms and goes late into the night, so those wanting a quiet night to crash early are out of luck, without earplugs.

I have stayed here 3 times now and i am happy with the atmosphere and music. It can get a bit much in the evening with the music but it is to be expected bearing in mind the age group they focusing on. Three night are enough for me. Great location close to everything. I would recommend to anyone and i will return some day.

The location is perfect for those looking for the party / shopping/ restaurants/ Watersports/ action part of koh samui. It is close to everything. The resort is very clean and well kept. Great vibes. If you are looking for a quiet early night, this may not be the place for you.

Perfect for those who like the loud nite life, fire show by the beach was good and entertaining. Music can be very loud throughout the nite and can be heard even from back of the building. No hand soap for the room toilet. Breakfast was good. Servers not very well trained. Kept giving us the wrong orders when we ordered at the beach side dining. Overall it was satisfactory for the price we paid.

Would book again, definitely recommend Ark Bar
Really nice hotel, good rooms and amazing staff. Hotel was clean, close enough to bars, beech (less than 10m from the main pool). Staff are amazing at Ark bar, so friendly and very knowledgeable. Ark bar is a "beech club" so expect loud music etc so if your wanting a relaxing peaceful trip I would maybe try somewhere else. We spent 5 nights here and would 100% recommend it and you will be surprised the amount of people who come to Ark Bar for a night out too. My one tip would be is around 10PM on a Friday head to the beech / pool bar as there was a really good beech party when we were there with a fire show etc. Never seen any trouble olus there is security all around the hotel so they know who is a hotel guest and who is a guest from outside Ark Bar.

It's a cheap, noisy, old motel that pumps techno until 2a, but it's in a good location to the beach and party area. The majority of the clientelle were non-westermers and not a fun party-type as you would expect in this type of motel. The room cleaning staff was good and friendly. Had a bee problem where there were around 100 bees on the room entry door and light above the door, and the cleaning staff came quickly with bug killer to get rid of them. It's pretty hard to get anyone to wait on you at the restaurant and you have to get up from your table and walk to the bar to get them off their phones to help you. Forget about getting anything if you are on the beach loungers. Upon checkout the supervisor was quite unpleasant and did not serve customers in a queue, first come first serve. Being that the checkout time is rather early and there were many customers checking out at the same time, you would think she would call the room checks in the order of receipts given from those waiting for their deposits back. I was the second to give her my deposit receipt and a Thai man was fifth, but she called his room number to be checked first and let the other foreigners wait until he received his deposit back before she called the next room check. Since he was the only customer that she showed remotely any kindness to, it was quite obvious she was prejudice.
