“LACKING PLEASE AVOID”

They also have a small private beach that you cannot swim in as there are many rocks and corals on the floor which can cut your feet, they do provide fins but what is the point of a beach like this. In summary this place is a cash cow as it is next to places like W and Banyan Tree so it seems like you are getting a great deal when searching online as for their cheapest room price you can get yourself a Ocean Front Pool Villa here with money to spare and so along with their stunning breath taking pictures it seems like a real bargain. So there is always demand to stay here, but once here their standard of service is way below 5 star resorts and they will give you a feeling that you are not valued and they don't care as most guests will only be here once, plus with their location close proximity to W and Banyan Tree and great pictures they will never be short of guests. You have been warned stay away from this place.

True 5 star hotel

Pros: The infinity pools, the private beach, friendly staff, generous breakfast, yoga classes, the swing, everything!
Cons: More frequent shuttle services to Chaweng and Lamai. Less expensive taxi services.
Location: The resort is located about 10 mins walk to the main road to get taxis. Crystal Bay is 20 mins walk.
We had an amazing stay at this resort. I really enjoyed the morning yoga and fitness classes with Mitchell, the fitness instructor. The 2 infinity pools are amazing, the private beach is stunning with clear and shallow water. The staff are very friendly and helpful. 1 morning we had a water outage and after that, our room was having issues with the shower. The hotel compensated us and the issue was fixed in no time. I stayed in the Tropical Pool Villa and loved the private pool so much. And the massive bathtub! Breakfast was amazing, they serve healthy options from gluten free cakes to smoothies and make-your-own fresh juices. The only downside for me was the location that is far from the shops and restaurants. It's about 10 mins walk to the main road to get public taxis to Lamai town or Chaweng. Luckily there are free scheduled shuttles from the hotels and they also provide taxi services. I would definitely stay here again, worth every dollar.

Pros: Peaceful with beautiful ocean frontage, wonderful friendly staff
Cons: The swimming beach could do with a bit of excavation work to remove a small section of rough coral (all broken anyway) so there is a nice sandy beach
Location: The resort is on a rocky peninsular and a fair distance from town. It is possible at low tide to walk to Lamai beach.
Stayed in an ocean front villa with pool - certainly not a plunge pool it was huge - for 8 nights. the villa is very luxurious, quite, private and totally relaxing. 2 restaurants on site, shuttle bus into town - as it is not within walking distance of any main shopping area, a small beach very rocky need shoes to swim. Staff all very helpful and friendly. 5 star resort, well priced.

Amazing Place - Exceptional!!

We had such an amazingly wonderful stay at Silavadee! The general managerJason immediately helped us with a surprise upgrade after we reported a problem with our first room. He and his wonderful staff bent over backwards to make sure that our stay was exceptional. Thank you Aon for your big smile while serving us at breakfast. Thank you Acy too! Thank you Wat and Ton. A big thanks to Fan for preparing our surprise upgrade for us and then showing us how to fold towels into swans & elephants. (Thank you to others that I did not get your names). As you can see from this review the staff were personal and professional. We felt pampered as they went more than the extra mile to make sure that our stay was exceptional. The breakfast included with the room was amazing...hot items (eggs, omelettes, eggs Benedict, waffles, etc) delivered to your table. A wonderful selection of croissants, breads, fruits, juices, even champagne . We've stayed at 8 hotels so far on our 5 week Asia trip and nothing even came close to the breakfast we enjoyed each day at Silavadee. We enjoyed using the free kayaks and snorkeling equipment. The bubbling chairs in the infinity pool were relaxing. The grounds and views were beautiful. The hotel's Thai food restaurant was great. We'll definitely plan another visit to Silavadee. Thank you Jason & your staff for making our stay so very exceptional.

Pros: The pools and the bar set ups were amazing.
Cons: Just get the General Manager to walk into the rooms discerning eye could easily take if from a 3 to a 5, just get rid of the grumpy check in staff
Location: Sunday Night Market at Lamai Beach was spectacular
I booked this hotel based purely on the high rating on Expedia, as I was tossing up where to stay, having not been to Samui before. We got the room with the jetted tub and to be far a great deal. My expectations were pretty high. The check in experience was terrible. The lady who handled us was more intent on our check out date and frankly looked like she had no interest in us, being there or anything else. Let me quantify that this was not a reflection on the rest of the staff, everyone else was wonderful. Unfortunately, you know what they say about first impressions. Our room was nice, however it was just lacking the little things you expect in a 5 star, there was mould in the bathroom, the outside deck desperately needed painting the jet in the hot tub leaked. Just a general lack of maintenance.
