Tranquility. Hidden little gem nestled to far side of beach

    Jolly good place!

Set in pretty garden close to sandy cove, rocks for snorkelling around and a long, sandy beach. Close to shops and restaurants of all kinds, old and new. Lovely staff, run by lady who owns it and who made us feel like family. Thank you, Poom!

    Pros: See above

Location: At the end of Lamai beach on east coast of Koh Samui, Thailand. There is sea swimming, snorkelling off the beach, watersports of all kinds.

Cared for as if you are family. Peaceful.

Tropical, lush surroundings with flowers and birds. With an equally warm and wonderful host. This is an escape kind of place. People won't bother you as you are the last property that can be walked to by the beach. There is a swing and lounge chairs that were always available when we were there. You can watch people fishing and dogs frolicking in the sand. There is some snorkeling that can be done, but it is in shallow water that visibility becomes a problem. The water though is the temperature of bathwater. There are facilities for you to use such as a restaurant. (There are many things that can be made, but ask a day early for things that need to be ordered fresh such as seafood.) As well, there is a massage therapist on site. My massage was very deep, but effective at curing a one year old seized back. There is a library full of books, which is really what this hotel is ideal for. That and finding peace. Be aware that this isn't a fancy hotel. In your room the bed is typically Thai hard. The simple furnishings are useful, but dated. There is wardrobe and a book case, a futon like sofa. There is a shower and a clean toilet. The windows allow in some fresh air from outside. You are in a one room bungalow, so the air conditioning needs a key to start up when you return from an outing. It is heaven for a backpacker, but it isn't a four star hotel standard. That said I found the place endearing. After a few days, it had charmed me and I felt at home.

Pros: The owner and the gardens

Cons: The rooms are very standard. The TV is pretty old.

Location: You are at the end of Lamai beach. Your needs can be met on a nearby road. Grandmother and Grandfather rocks are a short, walking distance away.

    Bad place!

Too much mosquitoes! Price to expensive for that kind of room.

    Run down and unfriendly staff.

This resort has seen better days. But the worst part was the unfriendliness of the staff - did not feel welcome al all. Also ended up with a very small bungalow that was located directly across from the car park - so had neon lights on all night, even through the curtains. Can do much better for the money. Wont be returning.
