Der Aufenthalt war im allgemeinen Okay. Was nicht so schön war ist, das die Servicekraft beim Nachfüllen des Frühstücks, die Lebensmittel mit der Hand angefasst hat. Die Zimmer waren Okay. Hotel ist etwas in die Jahre gekommen. Für 4 Sterne reicht es meiner Meinung nach nicht mehr.

Decent enough place if you need to be there.
The positive: House keeping was prompt each day. Bike rental was reasonably priced and very useful. Dinner was good, if slightly overpriced (didn't try breakfast). Nice location. Free WiFi worked well (unusual in my experience for a hotel) The negative: Slightly shabby rooms, poor lighting in them. Safe in room was broken (didn't need it though, so only reported it on the way out). Beds were so-so on comfort level. Broadly it felt more like a 3* than a 4* - perfectly reasonable to stay at, but that's about it. To be fair, we didn't investigate the pool.

Very peaceful location. Rooms are nice and big. Our bathroom stank of what we assumed of stale water. Once we turned on the tap the smell went away. Big shower. Rent bikes and use their bike paths, they were great. Pool was also great.

Hotel problem
There is the story I wanna tell. I booked the luxe room with breakfast included. When I checked in, the front desk told me my booking did not include the breakfast. I showed her my confirmation and it did show breakfast buffet. There is something wrong between the hotel and Expedia. The checking in process took me at least half hour to contact Expedia and finally the front desk told me it’s ok, you can go to your room and have the breakfast tomorrow morning. When I checked out, the unfair thing happened. The hotel asked me to pay for the breakfast! She said I need to get the reimbursement by myself. I was so upset about that. The problem is between the hotel and Expedia but the customer became the victim. That’s what I felt.

Good location, very bad housekeeping.
House keeping is a disaster! The talk to each other very VERY load in the morning while cleaning + they don’t do a good job cleaning the room. Last day the housekeeping lady came inside my room a woke me and my wife from sleep to tell me that checkout is within 20 minutes!!! They didnt evan bother to call the room!!

Nice for a remote and quiet break
This is more like a 3* hotel than a 4* hotel. The rooms are sparsely furnished and the beds are a bit too soft (old mattresses), but the bathroom is very nice. Food good. Staff on reception very friendly and accommodating. Good to hire bicycles and it's easy to go for a walk in the woods from the hotel. Pool is very big and the sauna is good (but the steam room is not a proper steam room).

Fletcher De Eese Giethoorn
A pleasant hotel in a quiet, green environment in the near proximity of the zwolle - leeuwarden motorway (junction Steenwijk). Breakfast was €10 per person with ample choice of bread, rolls, chroissants and all sorts of drinks. Rooms are clean and beds guaranteed a good nights' sleep. Highly recommended hotel!

Great stay in Spring 2017, the hotel is set in a wooded, green environment and has large comfortable rooms.Ours had a balcony which we enjoyed on the sunny days of our stay. Staff were helpful and the atmosphere was relaxed and informal. We enjoyed the pool which was warm and of a good size

The Fletcher line of hotels seems to want to nickle-and-dime you to death; this was my first of two during my vacation (April 2017). The carpeting in the room was really tired but the linens were up to European standards. Charging for a 'pool towel' and pretty much anything beyond the bare minimum reminded you that you are a paying guest, again and again.

Lovely grounds, hotel set in tall trees. Very peaceful and relaxing. My room way huge, with three beds. The indoor swimming pool is also very large. Everything was spotlessly clean and the breakfast was great!

I've stayed at this hotel twice before and was looking forward to coming back. Unfortunately our initial 'welcome' was not welcome at all; the receptionist (Jody?) was short, appeared unwilling to answer basic, usual questions upon arrival and made us feel like we were a pest; not sure if she reacted under pressure or if they were short staffed but it was not a warm welcome. However, we got exceptional customer service from Angelique in following days and the majority of other staff appeared helpful and friendly. Room (2) was basic, nothing special but clean and because the weather was good all week, the lack of space didn't really matter too much as we were out most of the time and didn't need to hang out wet gear. A couple of times we had to ask reception staff for soap/shampoo/toilet paper as this was not refilled by chambermaids but got it straight away. Trouser press, fridge, ironing board were all missing but I guess you could get two out of the three if you asked reception (?). Breakfast buffet was fantastic and well stocked right up until breakfast time finished. Bar/restaurant staff were accommodating when we asked for a light bite, rather than sitting down for a la carte menu. A great base to explore the area; we hired (electric) bikes for the duration; the quality of bikes were exceptional - really really good! and were out on them all day. We ate out at various locations in Steenwijk on the way back to the hotel; plenty of choice and saved us another trip out.

Wonderful area, very quiet, in the forest but nothing scarry, great room, big bathroom, very good bed, good breakfast, very nice people at the reception, very good Wi-fi signal. Very good services - explaining us surroundings with multiple options you can pay directly at the hotel for visiting Giethoorn, bike rent, tennis court. The only one thing I was not very happy about was pretty could water at the pool and pretty could in the room.

Excellent hotel in beautiful peaceful woodland surroundings. Great place to relax in preparation for the busy MotoGP weekend. Good links to the main highways for the Assen circuit. All hotel staff very welcoming and warm. Easy transaction booking and finding available dates and rooms. Excellent range of food for breakfast in a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere. I would recommend the evening restaurant for that special dining experience. We didn't have time to enjoy the pool ...good reason for a return visit!

Lovely escape in a rural setting!
We thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the Hotel-De Eese. The room was large and comfortable and we had a lovely balcony. The breakfast buffet was wonderful in the morning, and they often had treats out in a day room for guests to enjoy as well. Lots of trails to take advantage of and a truly beautiful swimming pool. The staff was very helpful also.

Vriendelijke medewerkers. Hotel zelf heeft zijn beste tijd gehad, zou eigenlijk een grote renovatie nodig hebben. Ligt wel in een erg mooie omgeving. Ontbijt buffet was prima.
