"Beautiful quiet riverside location. Really enjoyed my stay here. Greeted at reception by a lovely chap (Leonardo?) who was very welcoming and organised some soup for me within minutes of my arrival. The room was warm clean and comfortable. Being out of season (mid October) there were only a few guests staying but there was always a member of staff available. I can highly recommend this place. "

Holmsteinn (“Steinny”) has a heart of gold—so kind, charismatic, and generous. He sat with us to chat, shared stories of his family, his wife, and his grandson (who proudly carries his name), and even offered us the chance to see their fishing boat. His twin sister, Guna (forgive me if I’ve misspelled it), was just as welcoming. The kindness and sincerity they showed reflects the very best of a small village community, and as travelers, it was incredibly comforting and memorable. We left not just with a stay, but with a story to treasure. When we return to Raufarhöfn, there’s no question we’ll stay here again—and we’ll be eager to hear about Steinny and his wife’s next trip back to Spain! "

"Property was easy to find and we were met by a very friendly host. He gave me a tour of the property which had a fully equipped kitchen, very clean bathrooms and a common area full of books. There is a small grocery store steps away."
