Nice reviews of the hotel and the location next to the Klong Muang Beach made us choose for The Pelican. We booked the Deluxe 2 Bedroom Pool Suite and were excited of having our own pool. Yet, what a disappointment on arrival; there was glass and rubbish all around our pool, the windows around the balcony dirty. It was that I already booked and paid for 5 nights, otherwise I had left on arrival. I went to the reception to ask for help; they would send someone right up to fix it. But that did not happen and the next day, at noon, I had to complain again before somebody was sent upstairs. I now asked to speak to the manager. The reception said he/she was in a meeting, but would definitely come back to me with a solution/ compensation. At check out, I asked where the manager was; he/she was still in a meeting…not very classy handling, to say the least! Although we made the best of our stay, the first impression remains on our mind. The hotel sure has potential, rooms very clean and spacious and the staff were very nice, but the maintenance and the management could need some rethinking and fine tuning..
