Perfect for those wanting to explore w/o crowds
We chose Krabi over Phuket because we wanted to avoid the party scene and crowds of tourists, and this resort was perfect for that. We arrived at low tide and at first thought we'd made a huge mistake, but when the tide came in we had a wonderful ocean view. The staff doesn't really speak English, but Stefan, the German owner does, and he is super friendly and helpful. He was able to help us arrange an amazing sunset tour and diving with bioluminescent plankton. Stefan makes sure the staff keeps the pool, grounds, and hotel immaculate. The hotel is off the beaten path, but tours will pick you up and drop you off, and we found that renting a motorbike from the shop next door was a great choice for everything else. We then had access to all the amenities of Ao Nang while still being able to withdraw from the crowds. That's also how we discovered the afternoon open-air market between Ao Nang and Ao Nammao with great fruit and Thai food. We also loved to eat breakfast at the quaint, family-run restaurant a few doors down from the hotel. The bed was the hardest I've ever slept on, but I found all beds in Thailand to be harder than I'm used to. We actually slept better than expected and it helped relieve some shoulder pain my wife has had (who knew!?). If you want the party scene or the reassurance of being surrounded by crowds of tourists, this isn't the place for you, but it was perfect for us. We plan to stay here again the next time we come.

Dear Ms Rachel W You tried to bkackmail us from the day you walked into our hotel. You asked for an upgrade, but didn't want to pay for it. Then you aske to early check out because you changed your mind and wanted to go to a party on Phi Phi Island. You approached the staff with a very long positive reviews that you must have written earlier and most probably used this 'template' several times, saying that you will publish it, if we would agree to refund the non-refundable rate room. We replied that it is non- refundable rate and you should contact your agent for details. You furthermore left our hotel without paying for two food and beverage bills you signed. We could have get you in trouble with this making it impossible to leave immigration when doing a police file. You definitely need to be black listed at the hotels around the world. We don't let any guest blackmail us. Reviews are there to be written in truths and by facts and not to travel free or get upgrades. If you can't afford traveling, I advise you to stay home and watch documentaries. The Management

Rooms with a view
What a fantastic little gem of a hotel! We didnt get a welcome drink but everything got better from then. Our heavy luggage was carried up the one flight of stairs for us and our room was just fab; large, great aircon and with a brilliant pool and sea view. We had our dinners at the hotel which were all freshly cooked for us and we're very delicious. There were a few road side eats very close to the hotel so ate breakfast there to try somewhere different. This hotel is about ten mins by car from the main town so it's much quieter which really suited us. However there are plenty of taxis to take you to the main town if you need to, and there is a small port for boats to the islands only 5 mins walk away! The hotel is on the beach, though it's not a great swimming one but nice to explore. The pool is wonderful, set in a well cared for garden and also has a spa pool. The staff speak good English and are extremely helpful: fixed a leaking aircon, booked an awesome speed boat trip to Phi Phi and 3 other islands and they also gave us a late check out!! I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Nice place with free kayaking!
Would have loved regular room service to clean up. The view is nice at the resort restaurant and they serve very good wine! The bus to Krabi Town and Ao Nang can be hailed directly outside of the resort. The aircon is acting a bit weird for my room though, it is either too cold or too warm. I probably did not set the temperature right.

The staff was very friendly however english is limited. The location is right on the ocean, has a nice pool and is quiet compared to Aonang. It is best to have some form of transport as it is far from anywhere but that is why it is quiet.The hotel restaurant is good but has limited menu so you need to try other places in Aonang.

Great resort and great staff!
Reception was very welcoming with English speaking staff. Food was one of the best we have had on our trip! Very close to pier with daily trips to the islands. Only 10 min moped ride to the main city. On our departure, our bus never picked us up for our ferry. The receptionist then took it upon herself to not only argue for us on the phone but then eventually drove us o catch the ferry herself with another driver. Overall an excellent stay and would definitely recommend to others.

The staff were friendly and eager to please but their English was a little hard to understand. The room was decent, pretty spacious but could use some maintenance. There were only 4 guest staying there during our stay but we got a room with the picture by the bed torn off the wall and a semi broken chair. The climate control works well but when you leave it turns off and every time you come back the room is a sauna. The bathroom had a half wall for the shower so when you shower the toilet gets quite wet (close it and don't leave you towel or clothes there). Linens were fine but a bit worn. There was a built-in rooster alarm clock. The location is nice being on a beach (although not a swimming beach) and between Krabitown and Ao Nang but not a walkable area. We got a scooter and it was great. We booked all our tours in town. The Asian breakfast is phenomenal (best fried rice we had in the country) and all made to order, but that does take time. We had dinner there the first night and that was reasonable and pretty good too (green curry was good, chicken satay was a little dry). One day we had an early tour and hadn't finished our breakfast when the bus got there so they ran and packed it up and sent it with us. The wifi was quite slow. The pool was clean and nice. You can walk on the beach but the dogs will pester you and the area is not very developed.

Wont say its a premium resort but the staff would make you pamper like it really it is. The property owner stays around and makes sures eveything is up to the mark. Great for families, friends, couples who want to stay little far from shopping area. But quick access to beach, boat trips. They have free kayaks. All the day trip package they provide are for very good prices. No need to waste your time checking around. Would definetly come back again. Food you can customize and they would prepare as per your taste and likes.

Nice quiet hotel 15 min from Ao Nang
Booked this place beginning of low season as I prefer a little quieter place. It's a small hotel with perhaps 10+ rooms. I booked a family room which turns out to be generous in size, with 2 double beds in a large bedroom and small kitchenette and sitting area. It is nicely decorated although not luxurious. The pool is just outside our room and the beach beyond that. 15 min drive to Ao Nang, local bus (converted pick up trucks) cost about 300. Taxi about 400-600 depend on bargaining. There was only 1 other guest and we only saw him twice so we pretty much have the whole place to ourselves. May be because of the low number of guests there wasn't any cook on duty. But that's not an issue for us since we usually eat out in our holidays. The Jasmine Rice Restaurant is just opposite and quite nice. We had a sit in meal and a take away when we didn't feel like going to town. There are also food stalls for evening meals and breakfast. Only the reception spoke passable English but the rest will manage with sign language. I managed to borrow a converter plug from the caretake/driver as I remembered someone else mentioned it in his review.

Nice view, nice pool, quiet area. Be aware you cannot swim at this area, room a bit outdated, and no soundproofing, i had a room with street view and i heard the noise like the window was open. At 4am and 5h30 there was muslims prayor from speaker on the street! Friendly staff, store and local restaurant walking distance. good air conditioning, free shuttle to aonang 1pm and 5pm. I recommend this hotel

Spent 6 days here, great quiet spot if you want time out to do nothing otherwise need shuttle bus or local bus to main beach Ao Nung or Railey beach or Krabi town. Can't really swim in Ocean out front, quite rocky, water polluted from gas of all long tailed boats who are based about 100 metres away - they are noisy! Great swimming pool. Very good food, Dana excellent waitress and cook. Enjoyed all meals there. Booked all tours from there, front desk helpful. Enjoyed our stay. Hotel a little tired.

Great place on the beach
We loved Krabi Tropical! Beautiful location right on the beach with a pool and restaurant overlooking the water. Location was quiet but very easy to get into Ao Nang by taxi or tuk tuk and to Railay by longboat. Everyone was very friendly and helpful and the Thai food and the restaurant is amazing! Would love to stay there again and recommend for anyone.

Good choice
Located about 5 km from the nightlife in Ao Nang. Had a very pleasant stay in a seaside room; Nice staff (some very good in english) provide good service and can arrange activities and excursions on demand. Restaurant is of perfect quality with Thai and Italian kitchen. Room was good, bathroom is convenient too. Only remark is that the shower is very basic but that did not spoil any fun. Pool outside is very good to exercise in the morning and relax during the day, whichever you like. Although situated right on the edge of the water they have no good beach, which is too bad. This is because the seabed is too rocky at the location. But if you go down the road, for about 1 km (use the bicycle from the hotel) there is a beach club called Andamana where you can "lounge" in the shade on a sandy beach. I definitely recommend this hotel to anyone that does not need to go out 'till late every night (though occasionally of course it is possible due to taxis, all very affordable) and comes to relax and to enjoy the beauty of Thailand. We picked a good hotel, and if we come back to Krabi, we will know where to go.

Lovely little hotel near ao nang
The hotel was very lovely . it's not in the centre of ao nang but 5 km away there is a local bus every 15 min that can take you to ao nang for 20 bats , the ride is very pleasurable and many locals take the same route. The staff at the hotel is extremely helpful and nice, restaurant has good food. The only downside for me was the very hard pillows I'm used to soft flat ones and the hotels were very very hard. Opposite the hotel there is local store with washing machines, you can do your washing for 30 bats ( the hotel washing services were more expensive) there is a horse riding place near the hotel which was great ,overall the hotel is great but if you like quiet places otherwise look for something in ao nang

6 nights at Krabi Tropical Beach Resort
When we arrived at the hotel we were a little worried from yhe initial, outside view. A bit shabby. Inside however it was quite different, very clean and well maintained. The family suite was large enough for our family of 5 with a good sized lounge area and kitchenette plus the large bedroom with two kingsize beds. It is not a resort though but a small hotel with about 10 rooms. The pool is quite small but ample for our needs. The outlook over Ao Nammao Bay is not your idealic Krabi beach view, with pristine sands but it is beautiful, especially at high tide. The hotel us also near a long boat dock that will take you to the Railay beaches, Ao Namg and other destinations. The staff were very friendly and helpful except the owner who is on the front desk and is a little 'shifty' and not totally trustworthy. The food is excellent and we had most of our meals there and it was better than the few other places we tried. Overall a very good experience and if you don't want to be in busy Ao Nang this is a great spot.

We stayed for 5 days and can't seems to get enough. The hotel owner and lovely staff have been the most helpful, they would help to arrange for our taksi to town, activities and recommendation. We also enjoyed the "heated" pool and if you nice enough the owner will throw in massive ice cube. Highly recommended and will definitely come back again.

the garden was beautiful, with a nice pool and whilpool. Breakfast in the garden was a good begin of the day, with the great vieuw of the sea. the owner was a friendly man. we appreciated te shuttle service to the town with the van with the new roof! ;)

Hotel nice but far from Ao Nang ,must take bus or taxi to town. Hotel restaurant lovely by the sea and food good with friendly service. Pool lovely and warm.Beach not for swimming but good view. Can walk tp pier and rent a longboat to several beautiful island beaches. Problems with hot water in room and pillows very hard. Cost to airport $20. Towels not changed daily. Good a/c. Choose a seaside view room.

We visited this hotel last 2 weeks. We were welcomed and well taken care off. The hotel staff are all super friendly with good service especially the reception personnel. It is not so near to town area (about 3km), but this is the right place if you are looking for a quiet and relaxing holiday treat. Having beach view but can't be accessed as the beach is with lots of rocks. Transport to town is not an issue, you can just spend 200THB for "tuk tuk" or the same price for a motorbike rental to go around the island. There are plenty of shopping and eatery shops in Ao Nang town, must enjoy the massage sessions. Seafood are the main dishes. Overall, I feel that Thai people are very friendly with great hospitality. It was a good trip.

A bit outside town but very nice
A very nice place especially for families. It's next to the water but it's not really meant for swimming there, especially since during half the day it's low tide and muddy. There's a nice small pool though and a small garden for children. Great place for kids, just a bit remote in Ao Namao, 10 min taxi ride from Ao Nang and taxis charge a whopping 200 Bath for the ride (but there is also pick-up bus service until 6pm for 30 Bath p.p.)

Best value for dollar.
This is a "top" 3.5 star choice! We had a wonderful 8 days. Centrally located allows easy access to beaches, Krabitown and surroundings but just far enough away to get away from the hectic pace. Need a scooter ... Otherwise lots of other transportation options. Definitely an excellent choice. Beautiful grounds. Lovely pool. Friendly.

We stayed for 2 nights at this hotel in Krabi and its was worst possible that we expected after ready the reviews from TripAdvisor, which now appear as paid or false. To start off with it no 4 star or even a 3 star hotel. The facility has 15 rooms, of which 4 - 5 rooms are road facing, with no fence or road barrier. Not only the rooms are just 7 feet from the road, the hotel did not have any night guard. When we reached the hotel, we were aghast to see the hotel being so close to road, with no fence or boundary wall. The first night we stayed at the hotel there was a power failure, around mid-night. Unbelieving, the hotel did not have any power back-up whatsoever and it was pitch dark outside the room. Hence, from security point the hotel should be given minus 5 stars. The hotel staff were just as incapable, particularly a lady who was doing the check-ins. I had booked a double bed, whereas they gave us a room with 2 single beds, and when we asked them to change our room, they simply pulled the beds side-by-side and put a double bed sheet on it. And when i protest and asked for a feedback form, she had none and asked to complain to my hotel booking agent. The bathroom had no ventilation and had no hot-water. They said it was a small hotel and only had limited warm water, but no hot-water. This hotel is an absolute no no for families, as its unsafe and with virtually nothing around it, except a pier.

The holiday I wanted
We had a fantastic stay at the hotel. All the staff were friendly and helpful and the location is great. Not too far from the action but far enough away to be peaceful. The staff arranged taxis to and from Ao Nang and Krabi town for us and made sure we had everything we needed.

We checked in for 3 nights over the low season and so it felt like we had the whole place to ourselves. It was lovely. We originally booked a street-view room but decided to upgrade to a pool-view room and were not disappointed. Each room comes with a TV and is equipped with cable access to international channels like BBC, Animal Planet, Discovery, DW etc. Room was clean and had small extra touches like the patterned floor towels and bed runner. The best part about the hotel is the pool, it's cleaned every day and the jacuzzi is lovely. The garden is also maintained very well, even though there are insects on the outdoor tables it is definitely due to the force of nature rather than a lack of upkeep. The pool is right next to the restaurant and breakfast is served made to order every morning - choose from American / Continental / Local breakfasts and they even do breakfast-to-go if you have an early morning of snorkelling or diving the next day, just let them know the evening before. Breakfast is served with a platter of fresh fruit at the end. Even though the hotel is not in the middle of Ao Nang we didn't mind it as we wanted to be away from the crowd. The hotel overcomes its lack of location by offering 2 free shuttle buses to Ao Nang every day - one at 1pm and another at 5pm. Staff are always smiling and accommodating. I can't fault this place, really. Highly recommended hotel if you want peace and quiet with great value for money.

Pro: - Nice hotel and swimming pool - Good scenery - The room is clean, spacious - Staffs are willing to serve - Breakfast is up to standard Con: - The parking space is very limited only 4-5 units can be parked in front of the hotel. - Air condition is not working well - even we turned on at 20C but not feel cold at all. - Location is not near to Ao Nang, anyway the hotel has provided free shuttle bus at 1.00PM and 5.00PM from the hotel to Ao Nang but no free shuttle bus when returning to the hotel!!

This hotel was a pleasant surprise, worth a stay for sure. A small hotel with all the amenities of larger resorts, but with an atmosphere and personal touch you will not find at the big resorts. Fantastic food, and practical location with respect to transportation to airport and Krabi tourist attractions. Note that this is actually not a "Beach Resort" as stated in the name, since the beach it self is nothing but a nice view.

Upon check-in, we were given a substandard room which was changed when we spoke up. In the new room every light bulb was burned out which was changed when we spoke up. The food was edible, nothing to write home about. Air conditioning never really cooled the room. Long way from everything. Nice pool and view at high tide.

Relaxing Stay
This hotel was the best stay we had in Thailand. The hotel is away from the tourist/commercial/noisy beach town making it a relaxing stay. And the hotel is less than 30 min from the Krabi Airport. The hotel provided a free shuttle a couple times a day to visit the beach town, Ao Nang, which was a good day trip. The staff was very courteous and helpful. Our room, common areas, and the pool were clean. The food at the hotel was delicious and didn't make us ill. We were able to walk to Seven-Eleven for snacks, and to several small real Thai restaurants (as in the locals eat there) with great food at very low prices. We definitely recommend this hotel.

A good hotel,clean,free wifi and friendly helpful staff.its basic enough but its close (4km) to ao nang and short trip by taxi boat to Railay.rooms have air con but the immediate location is the major drawback.its not walkable to restaurants and bars.overall a i give it a 6 out of 10

Nice clean place
We stayed only 1 night as the hotel was fully booked during the Chinese new year. The hotel was very clean and nice as other people noted before. Nice pool and ocean view from the back of the hotel. Quiet place. Staff were okay. Not super friendly but answered our questions every time when we asked. They have 2 free shuttle services to Ao Nang Beach. It's about 15 minutes ride. Tuk Tuk (Taxi) is listed as B200. If you get older drivers, you pay B150. If you rent a scooter for B150-200 per day, that will be much cheaper. Local bus is B20 per person. t's a bit far out from Ao Nang area but quiet. We enjoyed staying there. Some shops and restaurants are near by.

Nice place
As others have stated, it is far from Ao Nang, the main nice beach/ shopping area. But that is why we loved it. You can take a tuktuk to town, but the peace, quietness and relaxation will be here. Restaurant was good, breakfasts are decent, pool is superb, staff is what you will find common in Thailand (very indifferent). Price is on average to what you will find around here for a boutique hotel like this.
