Disappointing, strange experience

Pros: The newer rooms have lots of plugs and USB charging stations built-in. The breakfast buffet is good.
Cons: The service is awful and the management is unresponsive.
Location: Location is next to a large mall with lots of dining and entertainment options.
**NO VIP AMENITIES**This hotel advertises that it is an Expedia VIP hotel but it does not recognize that status upon check-in. The hotel is brand new and construction is not finished. This is not indicated on the site. The pool was not open yet and the connection to the mall area is not complete. Getting in/out of the hotel is challenging due to the construction. Taxis have a difficult time finding the hotel and the hotel staff will not help you to find a taxi that operates on the meter. They will try to convince you that the only cabs available are a group of silver "hotel" vans who's rates are 4-5x the legal, local metered fares. This is a common scam at the lower grade hotels in Kuala Lumpur and a major reason why tourists continue to rate Malaysia as "corrupt". The rooms are brand new but poorly finished. My room had a consistent leak in the bathroom ceiling and pipes in the wall that would literally scream at random times every night. They were loud enough to wake me and keep me awake. The hotel made no attempt to fix the problem and only offered to move me after 3 nights of complaining (my last night at 1am). I made 2 requests to speak with a manager regarding the falsely advertised Expedia VIP status and the taxi scam situations but both times was told that there was no manager on duty and that one would contact me later in the day. That never happened. This was a consistently strange and disappointing experience.

Tower west. Soft launch.

Was given tower west though was specificed tower east. Would have been more helpful and save our time if information was given earlier. Some renovation was still in progress and the swimming pool was not ready. To make up for it, hotel provided transport service for guests to go to the resort for swim. Nice gesture but can be more initiated though .

Sunway West Tower

West tower is the new hotel that located near to the entrance to the theme park. Hotels.com gave me wrong hotel stating East tower that caused me to drive around searching for it. Hotel is new and the passage way to the mall is still under construction. Room is spacious and with park view it is quiet. Bathroom is big with natural light, which is rare for hotel. Door man is friendly and breakfast is good.
