Closer to a two star hotel. Impossible to understand previous glowing ratings. We had booked a beach side cottage at just over Au$500 per night for two nights to then move to a deluxe pool villa for six nights. We only lasted one night at this resort before moving to the Intercontinental nearby. The cottage (17) was very run down with a front door that jammed & scraped the floor. The outside shower & general area around the cottage pool was unpleasant and covered with moss/mould. The bathroom/toilet area was in line with a $100 a night hotel and basically clean. Grass & palm trees do not constitute a tropical garden paradise. The general resort areas are nowhere near the standard expected for the price and rating. The main pool appeared to have green algae growth on the bottom. To get to the beach you had to step over at least a metre wide strip of sticks & rubbish. The buffet breakfast was passable but not remarkable. Apart from the very pleasant staff this hotel was a major disappointment.

Dear Shane, How very disappointing to read your review on Expedia. Whilst I respect your personal preference for larger, generic, non traditional Balinese hotels, I have to completely disagree with your comments regarding the Belmond Jimbaran Puri Bali. Considering we met personally, and discussed your concerns, at which time I empathised with your situation, you did not mention any of the many other concerns listed in your post apart from the room issues. Having rebated the entire remaining portion of 7 nights of your stay without any cancellation fee to assist you, I find it interesting you did not mention this in your post! Considering the hotel you moved to is on the same beach as ours, you obviously experienced the same beach conditions there! Traveling in the peak of wet season you must realise there are challenges with the weather at this time of year! Only at this time of year, we can face issue with debris washing up on the beach. The hotel team do all we can to improve the conditions and presentation of the beach, though I'm sure you understand this is a global issue of litter in the oceans, not just the beach in front of our resort. I won't address all your comments as I do not feel they warrant response, I'm just terribly sorry after doing all I could to recover the situation you still felt the need to post such a review. We had bugs in room on first night, the GM Charles was excellent to deal with. Upgraded the room and our stay was excellent! Staff is most accommodating, friendly and go out of their way to help. Very professional run..excellent Charles!!

Wonderful hotel

The cottages were luxurious and very comfortable. The bathroom to die for separate shower and bath which looked out to your own garden. But what made the stay was the staff. Friendly and very attentive . I would stay at the resort again..

Week stay in Jimbaran, Bali

Great location, great cottages, great pool and (as usual in Bali) great people. Excellent location on beach for sunsets and sea, but one of the best pools at a hotel you can get. Needs a little refreshing, but for the most established hotel in Jimbaran an excellent choice to stay, enjoy and recharge!

Another fantastic holiday

Pros: Beachfront restaurants, lovely villa, brilliant staff
Cons: Spa prices are too high
Location: Walking on the beach
We love the beachfront location and restaurants. The staff are brilliant and genuinely caring. We keep coming back for more.

Unique and beautiful

Pros: Everything!!!
Cons: It's perfect
Location: everthing happens in the bay from watching the fishing village operate to the multiple wedding parties taking photos on the beach everyday
Lovely hotel , gardens are beautiful , staff are gracious , food is great . It's location allows a little glimpse of the real Bali - an experience thorougly recommended

Awesome!

Our family of four stayed here for 6 days in the private villa with a pool. We didn't want to leave. The staff always had a smile and went out of their way to make sure we had a wonderful vacation. Our free breakfast was included in our stay and it was very good and fresh. This resort is located right on the beach which made for unforgettable sunsets. Staff also assisted in setting up tours & events around the island.

Nice property on a dirty beach

A very nice property, with a large room and nice pool. But the beach was filthy with plastic bottles and other debris. The hotel did a 90% clean up job on the beach right in front of its property, but the adjacent beach areas were very dirty, so a walk on the beach was not a good option.
