Easy for a business traveller. Simple but good. Parking a bit of a problem. Better have a clear idea of where you are going to park before you get there. There is parkign but you have to know where to find it and how to pay it.

Nice traditional hotel with a great location to city center. A positive option instead of apartments in Rijeka. This hotel is just few blocks to city center where must landmarks and tourist places are located. If you rent a car in Croatia be careful about the car insurance even if you paid for full coverage; they will try to charge you for any minor issues (scratch or minor dents )

Avoid the big parking lot close to this hotel!
There were a bunch if issues that made our stay unpleasant. The room was poorly isolated, we could hear traffic and even people walking outside who were just talking normally (or perhaps a bit louder than normal, but definitely not screaming). Also the night stands are taller than the beds and are right next to the bed: I accidentally hit myself during sleep. If you stay at this hotel, avoid the parking across the street at all costs if you plan to get in or out of it during the day. At night it's fine. We arrived at night and it took us 30 minutes to get out of it the next day, the queueing just to get out was that bad. We even left and came back 2 hours later hoping the situation would improve, but nothing had changed.

I had a good stay. Continental is at a nice location. The breakfast was fine but not amazing. The WiFi needs to be upgraded.

Great breakfast
The room was small, as all European hotels are, but adequate. Parking was the only difficulty. There is no place to park for a few minutes to check in, and drop off luggage. Had to park at a lot that was dark at night and carry my luggage about a block away. Breakfast was superb and the staff at breakfast was delightful.

The location is fantastic but the hotel itself needs a complete upgrade. It’s a shame that beautiful building has not been upgraded. It needs fresh paint, new carpets and brighter lights pat the very least.

My stay at Continental was OK. It looks outdated (restaurant looks modern), needs some maintnance, I don't like tubs in bathrooms and thing like that... overall for 3 stars is acceptable, especcially for 1 or 2 nights.

Glimpse into past elegance at Hotel Continental
Old exterior but modern renovations on the inside. I was impressed by my spacious suite at bargain rates. I could stand on the balcony and enjoy sunrise-sunset with the sounds of the river flowing by. The staff from the reception, breakfast & dining room to the maids were friendly and helpful. As an elderly woman traveling alone, I felt safe outside after dark. There’s a lovely pedestrian mall nearby, and many excellent restaurants in the area. There were a couple of minor glitches in the hotel room, but the staff responded quickly. And I was able to control the room temperature so I could get warm after a walk on a winter evening. I stayed an extra day because my room was so pleasant and I was made to feel welcome.

Lovely old hotel in the very centre of Rijeka
Walking distance to port and corso, transport close, easy and inexpensive to ruined Castle and beach resort town of Opatija.

Overnight in Rijeka
A little tired but great location. Don't rely on the "free" parking as they only have 6 car parks!! We were lucky to get 1 off them. Being so close to the center of town is the best thing here.

It was centrally located and walking distance to the harbor and restaurants. The hotel restaurant was good, and the breakfast was very good. It was older and a little dated but clean an convenient for an overnight stay on our drive down to Dubrovnik

The standard of the hotel was not what I expected from reviews and pictures. In particular the breakfast was very poor and the food was not of a good standard. It seemed more important to have nothing by the end of the session rather than deal with guests needs. I saw one guest arrive half an hour plus before breakfast ended with a choice of two rolls and very little else.

Old dosager getting tasted - uptown.
The location is good and the restaurant was vert nice. the hotel is being renovated, which when complete will provide added value. my room was a little thread bare.

Great place to stay!
Nice-sized rooms, and is within walking distance to City Center and dining establishments. Most of the staff spoke multiple languages and were very friendly and courteous.

Beautiful Hotel in Great Position
I stayed at the Hotel Continental in June 2017, and enjoyed my stay. The listing on wotif described it as a city landmark, and this is actually true. I even saw its location shown on a map in a local museum. I got a room with a view of the waterfront area. There was a generous breakfast buffet, and there was both indoor and outdoor seating. I particularly liked the marinated sardines at the breakfast buffet and had several of these. I found that the hotel was very good value.

The hotel was renovated some 3 years ago. Room was roomy, spotless, quiet, with a very comfortable bed. Old town is no more than 5 minutes walk. I recommend it.

The hotel is a large old era hotel with huge hallways and smallish rooms. It sits in the City Center so the front area of the hotel serves as a gathering point for kids on skateboards etc.

The hotel staff is professional, friendly, and helpful. The Hotel it self is dated and a bit warn, just a simple room, but clean. the Buses leave (terminal) just a couple blocks away. Nice View over the water inlet. Restaurant was NOTHING to write home about....people nice. It is a long walk (Hike) if you are on foot going to the train station, also the way to get to the RR requires a few twists and turns...have a map handy.

The room smelled musty but was clean and the bed comfortable. The breakfast was very good and te staff were pleasant and helpful. The maid service was loud in the hallways but overall it was a nice place for the cheaper price and the location was amazing.
