We had a great time there

Pros: It was quiet clean and friendly the food was top notch excellent, parking good. Very central whether it was beach shopping or getting to a freeway.
Cons: The wifi it's good but you have to pick up a new password daily.
Location: The highway or freeway are easily to find everything is close by. The beach is down the hill you have an enormous shopping complex Gateway close by
Room was very comfortable clean and very quiet breakfast was well worth getting up early for as this was fantastic. The hotel staff are great helpfull always smiling speak English. Food excellent ,clean all round a great place to stay we loved it. One does need a car though as its a little far to walk to the beach.

Sleek hotel

We stayed one Sunday night in Umhlanga before returning to the US. Very pleasant, stylish hotel a few miles from the beach with a roof pool with a stunning view of Durban and the bay. Convenient underground garage. Very friendly and helpful staff. The rooms are quite large and well outfitted. The location in or adjoining a mall in a business district is well-maintained. The mall has at least two restaurants -- one was closed on Sunday but the other was pretty good. A minor inconvenience was some construction or remodeling during our stay that put the elevator out of service. But really you can't go wrong choosing this hotel.

Enjoyable stay.

Nice, Staff good and friendly and room was great. No lift available however to our room on the 2nd floor.

The price doesn't match the offer

The room was not maintained properly. The door from the bathroom couldn't close and there were scratches on the wall. The minibar was empty and the free wifi limited (100mo each day).

Great stay

Three of us stayed and we all commented on the friendly, polite, helpful staff and relaxed but efficient ambience. Really comfortable rooms and excellent massage in the spa.

Feedback: The Square Boutique Hotel

We really enjoyed our stay with my family, the hotel is beautiful and it's location is perfect. We were warmly welcomed by the General manager at check-in. It seemed like they were short-staffed though. Although most of the staff was friendly,I think they could do with more hospitality service training. Incomplete and delayed services were the main issues.I will use breakfast as an example,small things were missing eg being offered tea or coffee, incomplete table settings, no constant checking for spillages like milk around buffet areas, slow response to requests. I will still stay at this beautiful hotel on my next holiday in Durban and will recommend it to others. I hope they take the feedback positively and improve.
