Nature at its best
Lodge set in forest on lake edge in one of most pristine areas in South Africa. Friendly, helpful staff. Plenty of activities - day trips on lake, canoe trip on lake over, forest walk, watching turtles land and lay eggs. Impressed by lodges efforts to be eco-friendly, but don’t expect fluffy white towels or air conditioning. If you love nature and being away from the crowds we highly recommend this lodge.

The hotel is well located in Kosi Bay. The communal areas such as the dining, lounging and pool areas are very nice - well appointed, clean and outdoors. The rooms are the exact opposite - they are quite old, very dark and rather dingy. The outdoor shower area is full of leaves and bugs making it unattractive to use. The indoor shower was leaking heavily. The rooms are not well sealed which allows many bugs etc to enter. The mosquito netting was also torn in several places so does not serve any useful purpose unfortunately. I think this hotel is highly overpriced and not very good value for money. We expected much better accommodations for the price we paid. We were very disappointed. There are better options in the area.

Dear Anonymous, Many thanks for taking the time to write your review on Kosi Forest Lodge. We are sad to hear that you were disappointed in your choice. The rooms are tented with a thatch roof which, when the canvas tent sides are up can make the rooms appear dark, especially as the rooms are all situated in the forest. The canvas sides should have been securely sealed and we have escalated your comment on to our operations team, as well as the torn mosquito netting. This is most unusual and will be attended to immediately. The outdoor bathrooms do unfortunately get leaf drop and insects as they are under the forest canopy. Peu d'animation disponibles malgré les efforts du personnel à la suite d'un séjour avec vent et pluie. A éviter au debut du printemps. N'avons pu profiter d'une région reputée splendide

Preis-Leistungsverhältnis stimmt nicht
Wunderbare Umgebung, gute Ranger, Moskitonetze leider mit einigen Löchern (Malariagebiet) und Frühstücksbuffett recht dürftig. Mittagessen und Abendessen sehr gut. Unserer Meinung nach sollten bei diesem sehr hohen Übernachtungspreis alle Exkursionen und Softgetränke inbegriffen sein. Waren 3 Nächte dort, 2 Nächte hätten uns im Nachhinein gereicht.
