the staff were execptionally pleasant and went out of their way to assist . The rooms unfortuantely were very dark and dingy and the furnishing were old. The bathroom was not clean at all, we found body hairs still in the bath. A beautiful setting but need to work on the hotel appearance.

Room with a viewPosted May 4, 2015 on Hotels
The condition of the hotel/room was made up by the staff. The room was clean, the restaurant served good food, and our requests were attended to...Of course, all of this was overshadowed by the grand view from the terrace! The view of the Amphitheater and proximity to the Royal Natal National Park were, are, and always will be the main reason for staying here.

Inexperienced and incompetent staffPosted Apr 29, 2015 on Hotels
No other food establishments anywhere nearby, so you're forced to eat there. We were misled by reception when we called in advance to enquire about facilities for braaing. Food quality is worst ever. Service was ludicrous! Seemed like guests were there for staffs benefit, not vice versa. Awesome location, but be side to book a self catering room and take ur own food and drinks or you'll be disappointed. Ian the manager was as helpful as possible and did best he could with the staff he has.

What a viewPosted Mar 5, 2015 on Hotels
Great view of amphitheater. Nice poolarea. Room average, wi-fi very slow. Restaurant booring, waiter was drunk and kept messing up our order. Breakfast exelent. Good place to stay, eat somewhere else.

Excellent accommodation and would strongly recommend to anyone wanting to stay inside this part of the Drakensbergs. Very good restaurant and very helpful staff

Good Hotel adjacent to National Park for hikingPosted Nov 8, 2014 on Hotels
My brother and his family from Norway love mountains and hiking. Mont Aux Sources is adjacent to the Natal National Park. We were able to start early on the 6h hike along the Gorge and enjoyed the beautiful views and the towering Drakensberg at the end of the gorge. We had a very pleasant two night stay at the Hotel and enjoyed their good food, good service and the packed lunch provided.

AVOID ROOM 303Posted Apr 8, 2014 on Hotels
Room 303 must be avoided - the shower drain from room 403 have damaged the ceiling and is leaking into the shower of room 303 - if someone in room 403 had a shower - room 303's shower becomes a bio-hazard - the rooms have been recently refurbished and looks great - room 307 is perfect - the food at breakfast and dinner is scrumptious country South African Country Cuisine - the scenery is splendid - but the hotel needs more than a slick of paint to look fresh again on the exterior.. take more than one book and ipad .. board games to keep yourself busy.

AVOID ROOM 303Posted Apr 7, 2014 on Hotels
Plumbing issue for room 303 - the shower drain from room 403 right above had damaged the ceiling and is dripping into the shower of room 303 - a massive health hazard - Hotel management were kind enough to move us to room 307 - MUCH better in room 307 - thank you very much - otherwise - very much a country hotel - will need more than a slip of paint to clean up this hotel - otherwise good value for money.
