The Wi-Fi was not dying at all. The room needed a microwave. The ppl that would come to clean never washed the shower glass doors or the windows. I had to frequently remind them to change my linen. The room was extremely stuffy. The food downstairs was terrible and mostly cold. I would not recommend for a tourist that are use to temporary housing back in the states. Definitely not worth the cost, could have gotten something cheaper for the same kind of stay.

We had a good room qand very friendly and helpful staff. The generator during loadshedding periods was a bit noisy and loud music most of the time from somewhere below my room. The breakfast is by far lacking especially if you see what you pay for it. I would say the place is a bit overpriced g=for what it offers.

Great service look into the breakfast issue
Comfortable stay, service is excellent. Foyer carpets are very dirty which resulted in my Sinus acting up. Please look into carpet cleaning. Worse part is the fact that the hotel is pricey however I don’t understand the concept of still having to pay for breakfast aside even worse for it to be R220 per person for people that have booked

Convenient hotel. Good location and close to decent restaurants. When I checked in on the Sunday, 8th March 2020 the receptionist could have been friendlier but otherwise I had a most enjoyable stay.

Poor stay
Did not enjoy my stay. Wifi was not working. Safe was locked in the room. Invoice could not be provided on check-in even though payment was taken before I arrived ( payment was supposed to be at the hotel). Staff did not respond to my concerns. Totally unhappy.

Very clean modern Hotel
Ideal location Next to bar club restaurants walking distance and local beach not far as well. Hotel is clean modern and rooms are spacious and all habour facing.

Wonderful Waterfront location
On the recommendation of a friend I stayed at another hotel which was disappointing. I wished that I had come to this hotel for the whole week! This hotel is right on the waterfront, a stone's throw from the beach and several other popular night spots and restaurants, with a clear view of the entrance channel to the port.

Great view, on the waterfront.
Initially they didn't put us in the room we booked but after explaining to them what we booked (according to Expedia site) and what we got were two different rooms. They managed to swap our room. I had a bath & when my partner showered, he had no hot water. Only one coffee cup in room. Second day of stay housekeeping didn't replace the coffee. I used the last ear bud. Housekeeping didn't replace it. Room had no face clothes and even though we requested some, we never got them. Stunning room & bathroom. Beautiful looking hotel inside and out. Awesome "cigar room". Lovely pools. On waterfront next to restaurants, pubs & shops. Apart from housekeeping slip ups, I would highly recommended this hotel. Secure car parking with 24 hour security.

They stay was ok but property looks a bit used. Other Protea properties nearby in better maintain condition. Our stay was fine though and the breakfast was good.

Richards Bay Getaway
I booked on the internet, Protea Hotels always being my choice of stay. On arrival we were not offered any assistance with our luggage. Food very good in restuarant and staff helpful and friendly. Bedrooms comfortable, excellent bathroom facilities but the remainder of the hotel in dire need of a decorating revamp! Decor clashing and brash and out of keeping with the environment. Definitely not the best Protea Hotel I have stayed at! Sorry!
