Old charm of the past, disappointing standards...

Great courteous staff around the hotel, This property benefit from the old charm of the past, how ever outdated standards, room is overpriced and fall short of offering any memorable experience, no sense of arrival (No perceivable scent in lobby, bright light, inaudible music, no atmosphere), no proper introduction to the room and facility, poor amenity standard (Bulky and cheap), noisy ice making machine day and night, outdated furniture in the room, clear disconnect between first floor and upper floor of the room design, uncomfortable sofa, Breakfast was good how ever the curry buffet lacks any excitement, room service quality of food was average at best. Plunge pool and entrance was dirty. no check out experience. The hotel is beautiful and charming, The employees were very pleasant how ever the Oyster box hotel in Durban was for our experience an overall disappointment….
