An unexpected nice findPosted Feb 16, 2016
Pros: It has character and is set in a wonderful area. Staff are great, rooms are large.
Cons: May need a facelift sometime soon. Bathrooms are a little tired
Location: Lots do do, it's a country setting so beautiful walks, drives and close to many attractions.
We booked this hotel at the pst minute and very happy we did. The check in was great. Key and check in card was ready when we arrived. Although no one was available to assist with luggage, the rooms were so close it wasn't neccessary. The check in staff were friendly and helpful. The room was large and has a beautiful view of the Midalnd's valley and overlooks the stunning rim flow/infinity pool that stretches right across the garden. The bed was a king and very comfortable. The rooms are a bit dated and would probably need to be upgraded at some stage to keep it's 4-Star rating. The bathrooms also need a facelift. But that does not detract from the charm of this hotel. Dinner was great. A small but interesting menu. Our meal was one of the better one's we've had at a hotel in recent months. Service was great too. We were leaving early the following morning and the staff packed us a breakfast for our travels. We were swimming the Midmar so the fruit, banana, boiled eggs and juice was the perfect addition. I'd recommend this place to anyone looking for a great country hotel. It has charm, beauty and is situated in one of the best parts of the Midland's. A big shout out to the reception and dinner teams. They were all friendly and helpful. This hotel is not marble and stone, but it has character and that's exactly what we needed.

Anniversary Night AwayPosted Mar 30, 2014 on Hotels
Spent a lovely night in the Natal Midlands for our anniversary. Woodridge Country Hotel was superb. The fixed menu for dinner was lovely and the service excellent. The setting is beautiful and we wish had allowed more time to utilise the facilities.
