Pros: The hotel is located few blocks from train station, where there's are shops, bakeries and restaurants. Staff are nice and very accommodating
Cons: Didnt dislike it. It provided a place to sleep and shower.
Location: Close to train station and many restaurants.
The rooms are small enough room for bed and tiny night stand. Small bathroom and tiny closet. You probably wouldn't want to hang out too long inside.

Close to the railway station

Posted Oct 3, 2016
Pros: Close to railway station. Excellent breakfast.
Cons: Television could be wall mounted.
Location: Kyoto is a pleasant classy and refined city. Charismatic product market. Really smart main street.
This hotel is a few minutes' walk from the railway station. Our room was perfectly clean and well maintained during our stay. The room is rather small and felt very clustered due to lack of space. It was difficult to even find space to lay a standard size suitcase flat. At least the beds were of a generous size and very comfortable. The bathroom area was also very small and I could only sit up in the bath tub. A modern shower would have been much better. A large television took up about half of the desk space, further reducing very limited space. There was slight noise from trains due the proximity to the station. The excellent breakfast was the high point of our visit, with an excellent choice of hot and cold food.

Perfect location to all that Kyoto Station offers.

Posted Sep 30, 2016
Pros: Quiet and location, location, location and excellent value for money.
Cons: The limited housekeeping, meaning that for long stays, they are saving the environment by reusing bed linen when possible, everything is serviced daily
Location: Right in the heart of Kyoto Station precinct. A few minutes walk to all major store, restaurants and every kind of transport available in Kyoto.
Wonderful hassle free hotel stay for 10 nights. If you want space, book and pay for a bigger room, this is Japan after all. Everything you need but cleverly space saved. Staff friendly and welcoming. English no problem. A great hotel for the location right next to Kyoto Station which contains not just the trains, subways and private trains, but also the entire bus network. It just does not get any more convenient in Kyoto.

Ok, but not great.

Posted Sep 21, 2016
Pros: Close to Kyoto Station - if you exit correctly from the station. Wifi worked well. Nice amenities in bathroom. Eco-friendly program.
Cons: Make hotel non-smoking, or at least most rooms. Rooms were dark - update furnishings to make less dreary. Bed was too firm for me, not comfortable.
Location: Close to Kyoto station, which was nice.
This hotel was fine, but it was a bit outdated and dark which made it depressing. There seemed to be a strong smell of cigarette smoke too, which was unpleasant. For the price, it is likely fine but next time I'll pay more money to stay at a nicer hotel.

Hotel Ian perfectly fine for single travelers. Typical smaller than small Janapenes style hotel room. Bed is very hard.
