Very helpful staff. The hotel is one block away from Kyoto Station and Kyoto Tower! Very convenient to take the train and bus to all the major shrines and sightseeing locations. Very affordable and great for solo travelers! The hotel also has their own coffee shop which is great for coffee lovers! Great way to start the day. Thank you APA Kyoto, I highly recommend. I would love to come back here if I ever visit Kyoto again!

Having stayed at several Japanese business hotel before, I’m aware of the typical small toilet. But this single room’s toilet is even much smaller! When standing in the bath, my shoulder will be touching the shower curtain. When sitting on the toilet bowl, my feet touches the door. The wifi was also very slow. The pillow has a little bit of musty smell. I’m now worried about my next check-in on 25 Nov…

A bargain
Very clean, and the staff was friendly and helpful. I forgot my suitcase in the room, and they were kind enough to retrieve it and keep it at the front desk until I could return for it a few hours later. The room was small and there was no instant coffee, but at the price I paid, I can’t really complain.

Good location, good for a long weekend
Vicinity to Kyoto Station was a main highlight, however there are several nice restaurants, bars, and convenience stores nearby too. The rate was competitive, and the (smaller) western style room was comfortable with amenities included. Staff spoke good English and check-in and check-out were simple. If I travel to or through Kyoto again, I will highly consider staying here again.

pay a bit more and get a better room
the pillow of the bed was too thin, and walls also was too thin and I could hear a group of guys talking a lot in the room close to me. my check in was a bit late (around 9 pm) so I don’t blame them for not having parking space, but I did had to pay from my pocket to park in the parking space next to the hotel (I asked them about it)

Disappointing
We we’re so excited to stay in this hotel since it’s a 3.5 star but we are so disappointed when we just walked out the elevator going to our room it already smelled like smoke (we got the non-smoking room). The room is so small, it’s filthy, there seem like a puke on the carpet, it’s loud outside. I would not recommend this hotel at all! Find another one i beg you!

I enjoyed my Stay here! It was my first time visiting Kyoto, and it was great that the hotel is only a 1 minute walk to Kyoto Station! Very convenient since You can take the Trains or bus from there to any of the famous shrines! The staff at the front desk were extremely nice and helpful.The room was clean as well! The area has so many dining options! I also liked that I could see Kyoto Tower from my window! I only stayed here for two nights, But I plan to return someday and stay longer! It was a great experience and I recommend coming here! Don't hesitate! if your looking for a good place to stay in Kyoto, this is the one!!! In general the room is ok. However, even the room is clean it is very dusty. Especially the bedhead, curtain. There is a thick dust on the tissue box, on the phone and table. Like there is no vacuum cleaning for more than 2 wk. the dust is that thick.

Excellent APA location and stay by Kyoto Station.
Our stay at this APA hotel was excellent! Friendly staff, clean room, and only a short walk from/to Kyoto station. There are a good number of places to dine in the surrounding area. Breakfast is also available on the premises. Would definitely stay at this hotel again! Recommend!

APA Villa Hotel Kyoto-Ekimae
The hotel was 5 minutes from the train station. It has a car park on site which is handy. The rooms were some of the smallest I have stayed in Japan. The room was very dusty. Great central location and not far from anything. Pity the rooms were tiny.

The room is tiny even by Japan standards. Your double bed is essentially the entire room. the TV is right upfront to the bed. More than that, the pillows are completely flat and dead. The refrigerator was broken. The only saving grace is the location (close to kyoto station) and bathroom was pretty clean. Otherwise, please choose to stay elsewhere. I paid $88 USD to spend 1 night at this terrible hotel. Unless you have to, there are much better options in other hotels, please do yourself that favor.
