An Above Average Stay

Pros: Public bath, helpful staff, pleasant rooms.
Cons: Improve breakfast buffet.
Staff are friendly and accomidating. Room is a decent size and equipped with everything you need. Clean. Public bath was great, and robes with slippers provided. I found the price I booked for on the higher side and better deals came later. I wouldn't pay whatever the advertised full price is, but if you can catch a deal it's not a bad stay. It could be closer to the main drag or an ineresting district, but it was only about a half hour walk (or less) to Gion, Kyoto Station or Nishiki market area. Breakfast was a little dissapointing for the price, but not a suprise for a hotel buffet.

Nice staff, awful bed.

Extremely nice and helpful staff. Room is small but cozy. Clean. Nice view. Awful tough bed. My back still hurts a week after departure. Mattress so thin its like sleeping on a box spring with a sheet. Only one pillow. Not comfortable to sleep. OK breakfast ( same items every morning but good variety). Overall, I'd give it 4 stars. Taking one star off for the awful sleep.

Hotel in walking distance from railway station

Pros: Location
Cons: Breakfast could be improved. Had to wait to be seated twice then shared a table. Not enough selection of food. The worst breakfast on our Japan tour.
Location: Several good restaurants nearby, the two recommended by the hotel were excellent.
Clean and convenient hotel in good location. We walked from the railway station with luggage, approx 15 mins.

great stay

Nice hotel with friendly staffs. Overall experience was great except the room was a bit dimmed. Room was spacious and location of the hotel is near to Gojo subway. There is a Family Mart and hypermarket opposite the road.

A good stay in the hotel and it nears the JR, staff are nice. Will stay again next time!!
