Very good hotel in central Kyoto

Arriving at Kyoto station you can either take the subway for a couple of stops, or a taxi (it’s about 900-1100 Yen depending on traffic). The hotel is on a central way, in the city center. You have the subway at your doorstep too. A possible downside of being so central is that prices of nearby restaurants also reflect that. Between the hotel and Gion however, you will find many more eateries at a better price (being central Kyoto there is only so much cheap you can go).
The hotel staff is very friendly, the room was comfortable, Wi-Fi throughout, with all amenities, and with an empty fridge for your food and drink shopping. This is very important as you will discover that many people, Japanese included, use the various Family Mart and similar shops for their lunch and dinner. After two weeks of eating out (like we did) you may need to save some money or simply fancy eating in, so these places are perfect. The room also had a kettle for those meals that need it.
The TV only had CNN, but we were able to access Netflix through our laptops, so it wasn’t too bad. There is also a spa with onsen for an extra charge.
Overall a very good hotel.
