Loved everything except for the curfew.

Posted Jun 6, 2016
Amazing staff, bath was clean majority of the time. The Ryokan provided yukata and PJs, which made the experience so much better. The only downside is the strict 11pm curfew, which restricts the ability to explore Kyoto's nightlife.

Hotel is very old and very Japanese style. Very clean. But the shower room separates from room which is a bit pity. But the shower room has a big bathtub which compensates the shortcomings.

Beautiful hotel, great staff, well located

Posted Apr 10, 2016 on Orbitz
Pros: Traditional rooms, layout and hospitality, with modern conveniences.
Location: It's only eight minutes walk from train station. One block away from Shosei-en Garden, one of the best garden complexes in the Kyoto region.
This hotel combines modern creature comforts with traditional Japanese hospitality. It's fairly new, and built with attention to detail. Almost all rooms come with a private garden. The staff was exceptionally eager to help and answer questions. Guests are also loaned a private i-pad to facilitate internet access and emailing. The beds are futons, but much more comfortable. Access available on site to an onsan, a remarkable hot bath. The complimentary elaborate Japanese breakfast was .delicious. It's only three long blocks walk (maybe eight minutes) from the train station. One block away from Shosei-en Garden, one of top Kyoto attractions. My wife was delighted with the entire experience and so was I.

Posted Mar 31, 2016

this is an amazingly serene ryokan right next to kyoto station run by 7th generation family with a perfect balance of traditional old ryokans with modern comforts. not recommended for children as there are rules regarding noise. food is sublime kaiseki with a nice wine list to paur with.

Posted Jan 6, 2016 on Hotels

Ryokan fantástico de 1837, restaurado em 2013

Posted Dec 25, 2015
