"Beautiful resort but it is starting to show it's age. Probably due for at least a refresh, if not a full remod. The staff is probably one of the best i have ever had the pleasure to be around. Super friendly and will do everything in their power to ensure you have a great stay. I found the buffets adequate and plentiful. Went to the Japanese restaurant, which was top notch. The Rodeo Grill was also excellent. Our last nighr there, we went to the seafood restaurant and it was also good. The beach was beautiful and clean. There was plenty of lounges and shade for those that wanted it. Overall, an amazing vacation. Just be sure you arrive at the airport about 4 hours before your flight home. We arrived about 3 hours prior and did not have time to spare. Not sure if it is always that busy or if it was just that day."

"Our stay at Excellence El Carmen was incredible. Outstanding service, food, beaches, and pools. Our two-story room was fantastic. Cocktails and drinks were made to perfection. Being apart of the Excellence Club is a must. We got to experience the Spa’s hydrotherapy and enjoy a couple’s massage. Our favourite experience was the romantic dinner on the beach. Already looking forward for our return."
