We were here for our honeymoon and it really was an amazing place to stay. Because it was our honeymoon, we received a complimentary romantic meal, couples massage, and champagne on arrival. This was perfect. The staff were amazing, and very happy to help when I had an issue with the shower. Would stay again and would recommend.
I would note that this hotel is quite expensive, but we wanted the best for our honeymoon and this was the Island we wanted to stay on. So choice was limited. You are paying a five star price for a four star hotel, but it is a beautiful hotel in an amazing place. We would not have done anything differently.
We did not go half board, as we did not want to eat in the same place every day. Please be aware that the buffet, for B&B guests, is very expensive! The a la carte restaurant is also very expensive, but we had some of the best meals we have ever had there!

Beautiful island with lovely beaches strewn with beautiful granite boulders. Really fun to cycle around the island on rental bikes.
Probably the best located hotel on the island we thought.
We stayed in the "Orchid" superior room. The room was slightly tacky but the view from the balcony was probably the best on the island we thought as it looked down onto the beautiful beach below.
Evening meals were good.
Breakfast OK but nothing to write home about .
The restaurant manager (from Sri Lanka) was excellent - a very friendly chap, who really made our stay at Patatran very special. We would give him 10 out of 10 for hospitality.
Only thing really to complain about was the exchange rate the hotel levied on our final bill... on top of the government restaurant tax (5-10%) we'd already signed for, as we paid at the hotel desk at the end of our stay (rather than directly at the restaurant after the meal), they charged another 10% government tax + their credit card machine only worked in euros (rather than seychelles rupees) and the hotel forced an exchange rate on us that was 15% worse than anywhere else on the island => not happy with this => make sure you pay for your restaurant meals in local currency at the time of eating

Historic and majestic, the Château St Cloud is a Fantastic hotel with a very relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.
Couldn't fault the amenities, the location, the service or anything else. Certainly a great place to stay and relax with friendly staff to accommodate any of your needs.

Zita and Nicolas and the staff were very lovely. They made me feel very at home and were very helpful. Very nice breakfasts served on your own balcony each morning. Beautiful gardens and comfortable bungalows though. However, some of them seem overpriced for what they are.
The location is nice in that it is near the plantation with the amazing Source D'Argent beach, the La Digue Island Resort is nearby and town isn't that far.
The only draw backs were that there isn't really a central place to hang out and relax and chat with other travellers- you are mostly either in your own bungalow or go out. Lights were out early etc. It is also down a long dirt road and the one night that I came back on my own I didn't feel that comfortable as a woman in a slightly out of the way place that I didn't know that well.
