Beautiful location with excellent view

Posted Sep 14, 2017 on Orbitz
Pros: The Breakfast and the Gardens. The staff is friendly.
Cons: The gardens have been made smaller to add parking.
Location: Besides the view of the volcano, it is right downtown with lots of restaurants and a beautiful park. Lots of tours including a river.
The gardens and buildings are beautiful as well as the view of the volcano, Arenal. The rooms are a bit plain on the inside, but comfortable. I have stayed here at least 6 times, and always have been treated well. The breakfast is absolutely fabulous!

We Love San Bosco!

Posted Sep 8, 2017 on Hotels
As always, the staff, breakfast, and grounds were fantastic. The Internet service was better than last time almost hitting 4-6Mb sometimes, but in the evenings and mornings quite often it wasn't even hitting 1Mb which is a major downside. The internet is probably the worst part of the hotel and a little surprising given how tourism centered La Fortuna is. The beds were okay, better than before. The A/C was great, the showers were good as always. The new addition of being able to visit the Arenal Lodge and Springs was AMAZING! It was totally unexpected but a very welcome addition! The light in the hot tub didn't work, but that wasn't a big deal. Other than that we would just like to be able to have at least a small refrigerator added to the rooms.

Lovely charming place

Posted Aug 3, 2017
The staff truly are amazing, always polite and helpful, and the hotel is conveniently located in town. We arrived three hours before check in and they graciously accommodated an early check in. The hotel is simple but well decorated, with volcano art and pics of native animals- the word I keep thinking is charming, it fits perfectly! The rooms are a bit small without additional seating inside the room, and sometimes you can hear traffic noises at night - this isn't luxury vacationing with lush carpets and a hot tub in your room, but if you are looking for something a bit more creative, less hotel-chain like, while still getting first rate service, this place is it. We loved it and would happily return!

Best little hotel in town for touring Arenal area

Posted Jul 29, 2017 on Hotels
Hotel was clean, convenient to La Fortuna shops and restaurants. We wanted a hotel just to sleep and shower to enjoy the Arenal area, and this was perfect. They have a pool, but we didn't have time to enjoy it since it didn't open until 8 AM (I would have liked to swim at 6:30). But the staff, especially Laura, was terrific in helping us arrange and plan our days for hiking and zip-lining and tubing on the Peidras Negras River and arranging transportation back to San Jose for a wedding. This hotel's owner is the same as Volcano Lodge, so we enjoyed dinner and then its hot springs (kind of commercial with lights and music) with reciprocal passes. We could walk to local stores and restaurants, the park in the middle of town. Great place to stay! Again, all of the staff were so kind, helpful and very pleasant.

Eggsellent breakfast!

Posted Jul 29, 2017
Loved the convienant location of this property. Food was terrific! Not sure how the rating is almost 5 though; perhaps because It is so affordable. Not super excited when I walked into my room...it was tiny, lacking in towels and didn't have a hair dryer. Reminded me of a Motel 6.

Very well kept,picturesque hotel

Located near lots of restaurants and the Central Park of La Fortuna with a view of the Arenal Volcano just minutes away. It's sister hotel allowed us to use the Thermals free of charge. Many excellent meals and plenty to do within a short drive distance. Very relaxing😊

Amazing service, terrible Wi-Fi

Posted Jun 30, 2017 on Hotels
The staff was EXTREMELY nice and helpful. Alonzo was extremely kind and patient and took A LOT of time to explain all activities that could be done around La Fortuna. The hotel itself was very nice, comfortable, near all stores and restaurants. There were 2 nice swimming pools (kids and adults) and a jacuzzi. Unfortunately, I desperately needed quality Internet access and their wi-fi is ridiculously bad. A complete headache. Despite a great value and amazing staff, we ended up changing hotel because of this minor detail which made our stay pretty difficult. That being said, if you don't have to work remotely and can live a few days without decent wi-fi, it is a great place to stay, but I think it is a very easy and not too expensive fix that would mae their guests' stay much better... And avoid losing some like us, since we had to leave.
