Pleasant stay
Goretty is a courteous and helpful hostess who is always available. The house itself has seen better days, but it is very spacious and offers everything you need for a pleasant stay. The garden and surroundings invite you to relax and recharge your batteries.

4/5 Good

Very Nice Home- with some exceptions
I always like to leave an honest review for those who will stay after us. For this reason there will be some Pros and some Cons. To begin, you will need to remember that you are staying in a home in the wilds of Costa Rica. If you think you will be staying at the Hilton then you are not going to be satisfied. Pros: It is a large home with plenty of space to stretch out. The main living areas are beautiful and you can tell at one time this was a wealthy families home. The kitchen is well appointed if you want to cook a meal and the refrigerator is large and works well. We rented it because it was near the Pacuare River where we were going on a 2 day rafting trip. We wanted to experience life outside the cities and towns and well, the price was right for 4 people. The grounds are very pretty and the area is quiet. Cons: The home could use a little TLC. From dripping faucets and stains on the ceiling to some bare fluorescent light bulbs and "soft" wood flooring it needed some care but not enough to say I regret staying there. There was no TV or dryer that we could find. It looked like the TV had been removed because the wires were still there. We looked everywhere for the dryer, it was definitely MIA. The pool table and foosball were unusable. I would say the single major item, for my family anyway, was the hot water. There are two "Insta-hots", one on each shower head. That's it. Nothing at the sinks, bathroom or kitchen. While I don't need my showers to be hot (the temperature couldn't have reached 90 degrees/ 32 Celsius) and we didn't do any real cooking, I think this is something that should be addressed. Worst thing about the property: Hot water. Best thing about the property: Size, Goretty and the quick communication. Would I recommend staying here? Yes, but only if the hot water is fixed or that doesn't matter to you.

5/5 Excellent

Big House
The house is big and very comfortable. We have a great time. We loved the BBQ. The plants are beautiful.

5/5 Excellent

Beautiful property
Goretty was so helpful (and understanding when within a few hours of our arrival, we broke a few things! :-( ). The property is BIG and beautiful, and the grounds are amazing. There is a coffee factory within walking distance where you can get fresh beans or grounds to brew, and a mirador/vista up the hill a little ways that was great for birding and seeing the valley across Turrialba. It was a wonderful time.

5/5 Excellent

emplacement trés agréable , tranquille .
la maison est pleine de charme , le jardin agréable et l,accueil trés chaleureux !
