Too dated, inadequate staff, musty smelling room.

Posted Apr 12, 2017
Walked in and had to stand in line to check in for over 30 minutes. Most of the time there was one checkin clerk and was taking an inexplicably long time with each guest. Finally got room. Drove around back and it was obvious this was an old motel, slightly remodeled. In fact discovered this was originally a 1950's Holiday Inn. Walked in and the musty smell was strong. Honestly wondered how healthy this environment was. When I was younger, I wasn't so picky, but in my 60s I am reluctant to stay in such a place if I can avoid it. The next day I checked out a day early and moved to a sister property, The Lodge & Spa, that was booked the first night. Total opposite experience. My advice, if you can't get The Lodge, don't go. Callaway can put lip stick on a pig, but is still a pig. Tear it down.

Dear Marshall, I am sorry to see that your check in and first night were not an enjoyable experience. However, I am pleased that we were able to correct it and have you leave with a better experience. We are working on improving the guest experience any chance we can and are always grateful when we get suggestions on how to make it better. We do hope to see you again soon.

Pros: Easy to walk around. Well kept grounds and nice staff.
Cons: Mattress was slanted down from middle.
Location: Great shopping in Pine Mountain, Newnan and Senoia. Lovely trails for walking throughout the gardens. Very helpful staff at Gardens.
Great day wandering about the Gardens. Missed the azaleas but it is still beautiful.

Our reservation was at the Mountain Creek Inn, when we arrived the Mountain Creek Inn was renovating and our reservation had been moved to the Lodge and Spa for the same price. Everyone from the valets to the front desk personnel were extremely nice and accommodating. The room was magnificent.

Girls' Reunion

Posted Jan 20, 2017
Pros: Resort feel. 2 queen beds in each room and great atmosphere.
Cons: furniture needed a little updating and I think they are getting there.
Location: Lots to do in the gardens. Love the Birds of Prey and all the trails. Wish the Horticultural center was still open but the butterflies were great.
This was a Girl's weekend reunion of old roommates. We all turn 60 this year. The cabin was perfect for this celebration. We totally enjoyed all the amenities that Callaway offers with the Room. Could not have asked for a better experience!

Comfy bed, hot water with excellent water pressure. Quiet, clean and close to park and local restaurants. Great weekend trip from Atlanta.

Nice location---we were there over the New Year Holidays for a restful break. Very relaxing and lovely location. The only downside was that the heat was difficult to regulate.

Thank you for your feedback. I would like for you to know that we are closing the Mountain Creek Inn for an extended period of time for some much needed repairs and general upkeep. We do hope that you will come back to visit after our renovations are complete.

The room was older, but very nice and updated. The bed was so comfortable and everything was so clean, beautiful area if you enjoy golf, hiking and nature. The little town of Pine Mountain was cute with several darling little shops and cafes. I would definitely stay again.

Dear John, Thank you for taking the time to leave your thoughts and comments regarding your recent stay at the Mountain Creek Inn. I am sorry to see that you were not exceptionally comfortable during your stay. I also see that you were misinformed. Our beds are not completely locally made. The head board and foot board of the beds in the Mountain Creek Inn are locally made. The mattress and box springs are not. I will address this misinformation with our Front Desk Manager so she is able to address her staff accordingly. We are closing the Mountain Creek Inn for an extended time period beginning later this month for some much needed repairs and general upkeep. It is my desire that you would give us the chance to win you back after we have reopened the Mountain Creek Inn. Best, Cherise Romney

Good on-site accomodations for Fantasy in Lights

Posted Jan 2, 2017 on Hotels
We stayed on property at Callaway so that we would be close to the Fantasy in Lights show and we weren't disappointed. We were able to use the shuttle service to the lights show which was an unexpected convenience of not having to drive and park after a long drive to Callaway. The food at the inn was tasty and the front desk staff were very kind and answered all of our questions. Our only complaint was that there is no restaurant that serves late for the light show participants. We ate snacky foods at the light show staging area so it was fine, but having a sit-down meal afterwards would have been nice. All things remaining the same, we'd still stay at the inn, but we'd know to eat before the show OR see the lights earlier and then have time for a sit-down dinner.
