The lodge was outstanding, the only problem I had was the fact the lodge charge me 16.25 extra for lodge fee that was not included in my cost when I reserve the room. Which was a surprise for me, It was told to me that when you use 3rd party this fee is not included. A BIG SURPRISE.

Dear Shirley, I do apologize that you felt blind sided by the resort fee. This is a fee that we charge all overnight guests. This fee includes your access to the gardens and a $10 recreation credit. Otherwise, we are delighted that you loved your visit to the Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens. We are excited to share our newest accommodations with our guests!

It was good but the bed was sunken a little in the middle which did not help backs, and firm about the sides that we liked

Beautiful, relaxing, and clean!

Posted Jan 16, 2017
Pros: Clean and beautifully decorated. It fits in with nature while being elegant, roomy, and comfortable.
Location: Do get into Pine Mountain and explore. The Little White House is also worth a trip and close by.
Callaway Gardens-- even in the winter--is beautiful but for a recent 3-day visit it was absolutely the most relaxing experience ever. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, the food in the bar and dining room was delicious, and the opportunity to enjoy nature were all exceptional. From Boston we traveled to Pine Mountain to visit family. I wish we lived closer as I would repeat this mini-vacation often!

Frustrating

Posted Jan 2, 2017 on Hotels
Before checking in I asked for a quiet room. We were placed by the elevator and service stairs which were banging and slamming all day and all night. Our room was clean but only cleaned once without my calling and asking in 6 days. The balcony door was broken and my husband had to fix it. The lamp in the bathroom was broken. Nicks and dents all over the room and furniture. Our room came with free bottled water, free wifi & free full breakfast. They didn't give us our breakfast vouchers when we checked in and treated us like we were lying when we asked for them. A couple beside us at breakfast one morning had the same problem. The service in the restaurant was HORRIBLE. The hostess was only sometimes at the stand and only once knew which tables were ready. The dining room staff wandered around the dining room and kitchen like they had nothing to do. I had three waiters in 6 days of breakfasts, lunches & dinners who kept my water glass filled or asked if I needed anything. At dinner one night there was trash, food & napkins on the floor. It was hard to enjoy dinner because they were slamming dishes around and breaking glasses. Room service was on the phones routed to a ballroom. I ordered twice on our last day & my orders were wrong. Twice. I called the spa a month in advance to get an appointment but they never answered. My voicemail wasn't returned. No answer when I checked in and called from my room. On our last morning between 6 & 7 am the fire alarm went off.

Firstly I would like to thank you for taking time to advise us of your recent stay here at the Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens. It is only through feedback such as yours that we are able to maintain and indeed, where necessary, improve upon the service that we provide our valued guests such as you. I was very disappointed to read of your experience during your stay with our property. While an apology at this point will not alter the outcome of your experience on this occasion I do extend it with all sincerity. I can certainly empathize with some of the points you made in your review especially the placement of your room and the issues with your dining experience. This level of service and product is not acceptable for Callaway Gardens. I would like for you to know that I have spoken to the Executive Chef and he has addressed your specific comments with the appropriate staff so this will not happen again. We are beginning a full renovation of the guest rooms in the Lodge and Spa later this month and do hope that you will come again to experience the updated version of the the Lodge and Spa at Callaway Gardens when it is complete. Again, thank you so much for your time and follow up with details and again apologize for our shortfalls and we will be addressing these immediately and we hope we get a chance to win you back. Warm Regards, Cherise Romney

Great room....not so great front desk

Posted Dec 28, 2016 on Hotels
The hotel charged us for our stay even though we had already paid through Hotels.com. It has been almost a week and we have spoken to them several times....still waiting for a refund.
