    5/5 Excellent

    Heart of Cajun Country
First, I'd just like to say that communication with Alex and management was impeccable. Response time is quick. Alex was extremely nice and super accommodating, especially when my husband and I needed to book an additional night that wasn't planned. No problems extending our stay. This house is a comfortable 2BR/2BTH home within walking distance of downtown. I guess you could consider the location downtown, but it's nestled in on a quiet street. The front of the house is situated on a dead end street, with parking located on the backside (the next street). On a corner lot, the home has covered parking and a semi-gated yard. The real draw for me was the lovely yard, sitting under the trees and enjoying the weather. The courtyard/garden patio had lots of shade, table and chairs, and a great bench. Very relaxing and quite private. While outdoors, I watched the neighbors ridin bikes and enjoying daily walks. The area felt very safe and serene. The home has a vintage charm. It's actually bigger than I expected and had all amenities. Two full baths. Linens provided. The master bedroom (with bathrm) was comfortable. The kitchen is a perfect size for those who prefer to cook. However, if you intend to order out/dine out there are plenty of great restaurants nearby. We like Agavé (Tex-Mex), but trust me, there are tons of dining options. Whatever you need is close by. My first choice for grocery/spirits/toiletries is Rouse's and Drug Emporium. Highly recommend both. The Ryan House is the perfect location for comfort and convenience, especially if you're in town for the festivals. Definitely don't have to worry about parking! Honestly, we were well taken care of. Our host sent a delicious Pinot Noir over and we toasted to a wonderful, relaxing getaway. Positive we'll return. Thanks, Alex. You are a thoughtful host. We appreciate your hospitality. Felt right at home.

The house was cute & historic looking & was in a great location. The house was not clean, there was old coffee & grounds in the coffee maker, there was no remote to operate the direct tv. We searched & I contacted the owner. He said the cleaning person would come look but they never came. The internet worked fine. We tried watching YouTube videos but would have liked to have access to the direct tv as the box was there. The house was dirty under furniture & we came across an opened bottle of some sort of protein milk drink that was spilled in one of the bedroom drawers. The house seemed to be undergoing some repair work as there were some construction materials on the front porch. The dishwasher was not working. The owner supplied a complimentary bottle of wine. The furniture was not very well padded but the beds were comfortable. I expressed to the owner concerns about the front door only being able to be unlocked with a key. The key was there in a dish, but this is a fire hazard. We only located this key in the second day. I would recommend if they had a better cleaning service
