The operators were very friendly and served breakfast in an area that was glass enclosed and looked out on a lovely yard. The house had some beautiful artwork and furniture and the room was very spacious with a comfortable bed.

Adequate quarters in a small city.
I rate this BNB as adequate for a one-night stay. The noise from the adjacent busy streets is really not a big deal. The room was clean and comfortable. Skip the breakfast - you are much better off at the IHOP.

Experience was ok. Bed was comfortable. Breakfast was scrambled eggs, refrigerator biscuits, 2 tiny pieces of bacon and a fresh fruit cup. Everything tasted fine. For $200+ though, I would have gone somewhere else.

Nice historic home with friendly staff; right next to a busy, loud street. House needed repair in several areas and the room had a nice window view of a garbage can. Lot of potential, but could be cleaned up a bit.

The heater was on all Friday night with notes up to not mess with the airconditioner. Did not sleep at all due to heat. The house was 76 degrees. Saturday, the older lady who cooks was very rude. There were some guests who came to check in, no workers were there and the door was unlocked, they were screaming hello across the house as i tried to nap and then opened my door and woke me up, asking if a worker was there. After the lady who works there showed up, she questioned me about showing the ladies around.I'm like maam, nobody was here and they are yelling looking for help. Anyways, she was terrible, but the manager who was off due to medical issues was very nice over the phone prior to me booking. She was helpful with everything, but i didnt call her to let her know what happened, I just booked a room down the road to go get some sleep.

What a wonderful find! I’m sad I was working and didn’t get to enjoy the grounds and breakfast more than I did. Charming b&b in the heart of Lafayette. Wonderful service. Comfortable beds and the rooms (I stayed in 2) are all unique. Whether you want antiques or modern amenities, there is a space for you here!

Nice B&B. Good breakfast in the morning. If I had one complaint it would be that the initial room that they gave me had a bathtub that’s only big enough to accommodate a small child. Thank goodness a woman was willing to switch rooms with me so make sure before booking you confirm that you don’t get that room!

Comfortable and Feels Like a Home!
This was such a nice bed and breakfast. You can tell that the owners really put a lot of love and care into and you can feel the history of the house itself. The rooms were clean, cute, and comfortable. We woke up to breakfast cooked my the grandmother of the owner and it was some of the best home cookin I’ve had in a long time. The kitchen is stocked with anything you could need. The room even had a smart TV with Netflix. 10/10 would stay again and highly recommend!

Noisy and neglected
There probably are some quiet and nice rooms here but pleased be advised not to book “Mary”. This is on the front of the house with a very noisy road in front so lights and traffic bothered us all night. The room is also by the front door at the bottom of the stairs. A window above the door means any light from the communal area shines into the room. Add to the above, there were no blinds or curtains on the front window so lights from garden spotlights, porch and traffic made for a sleepless night. The owner admitted that he “forgot” to close the outside shutters but suggested we were to blame for not checking. Seriously. Within five minutes of checking in, we had been abandoned in an otherwise empty house. No manager or other guests in sight. Breakfast was frozen french toast and sausages - nothing homemade. Apparently, this was because it was low season. Overall an extremely disappointing and overpriced stay.

This review baffles us. The client seemed more than content at check in and at breakfast. At no time did the guest complain about anything. We are always happy to accommodate our guest’s requests. They were the only guests staying in the front part of the house that night. And the switch for the light she is referring to is literally 2 inches from her door. This is the first time someone hasn’t simple...turned the light off. The shutters can be closed easily from inside the room. Again, not sure why they just did not close the shutters themselves? We never stated that we forgot to close them. In fact she didn’t email us until days after writing this. Look at our other reviews; we do not serve frozen/reheated breakfast. Our breakfasts are custom prepared every morning. The guests could have asked for anything at breakfast and Joan would have made it for her. She accused us of using grocery store purchased bread. Well, you got me there. We do buy our bread from the store. The complaints continued about 5000 more words...but, we’ll spare you. Let’s just say I’m surprised she didn’t blame us for the weather that day. Some people will never be pleased. But, to those who want to experience a historic B&B, southern hospitality, the most comfortable beds & a lovely breakfast... well, we can’t wait to meet you!

Lovely stay
Love the inn and hospitality. Breakfast is so special in the sun room with the tea cups and unique coffee spoons. This was my third stay here. I will note that the room was kind of warm. The ceiling fan was on super high, but it was still a bit uncomfortable for sleeping. The location is great and right in the heart of shops and eateries.

No front desk staff on premises throughout our stay, no breakfast was served as promised, we had to call her, she overslept. They did not refresh our room with coffee, lines, towels etc while we were out. The room was fairly clean but overall not worth $135 a night

Sabrina was awesome, told us about the area, things to do, sights to see, and the historic house is so beautiful. We stayed in the cabins behind the house and were super comfortable. The breakfast is out of this world too! Highly recommend!

We came to check out Lafayette for a prospective move and T’Frere’s was the perfect place for us to stay! We loved it! The staff are kind and had great suggestions. The room was adorable and the best was sooooo comfortable! Overall we had a fabulous stay at this charming bed and breakfast and would definitely come back!

T'Frere's House is a very comfortable place to stay. Despite being located at a very busy intersection, it is shielded by a thick wall of shrubbery and is very quiet at night. Melody, the host, is extremely nice, and the breakfast was very good. Melody made sure that we knew where everything was and had everything we needed. She also was a good source of information about local attractions and places to eat. T'Frere's is on the edge of town and very conveniently located near Vermillionville, an excellent working Cajun village museum. The center of downtown Lafayette and the university are only a few minutes away. It is also very convenient to shopping outlets, banks (ATMs), and a large selection of restaurants.

it was peaceful and really good to be there! I'm from Lafayette, but my parents have moved and are retired. When I am in town to check on the house that is now rented, I like to stay in a home-like environment, where I can eat and sleep and re-charge my battery to handle my young adult life. T'Frere's is a little treasure that is so accommodating to resting and enjoying the city. I am grateful to know about it, and I hope everyone experiences a hint of the French culture in every meticulous corner of this home away from home:)

Super friendly staff
This was my second stay at T'Frere's. The location is great. Also, I love staying in historical inns, so this was a good choice for us. My sister got the queen bed and said it was sooo comfortable. My twin wasn't that great, but OK. The staff are super friendly and helpful and even speak French. My only complaint would be that they indicate that breakfast is served "from 8:30-9:30AM". However, on both days, breakfast wasn't begun until closer to 9:00AM. Because we had plans for both days and needed to get on the road, I think starting breakfast on time, if the guest is seated, would be more respectful. In that way, we could enjoy the breakfast and not have to rush to get to our plans. In fact, we were 30 minutes late meeting an elderly relative. This could have been avoided by serving breakfast on time. I would like breakfast starting even earlier. Also, in our room on the first floor, the road noise was significant which could affect some light-sleepers.

We stayed here as part of a driving tour of the Deep South. A very welcoming host who took the time to tell us about the interesting history of the house. It’s a former farmhouse furnished beautifully in the creole style and having a lovely breakfast room that is bright and airy. The bedrooms are furnished in a traditional style with iron bedsteads and traditional covers. The property is well located to get to the main areas of interest as well as close to a number of good restaurants
