I’m American my husband is Nigerian and we have stayed in many hotels around Lagos this particular hotel was the worse experience I’ve ever had in my life! The room was for two people but breakfast is provided for only one person you have to pay for the additional breakfast. You have to pay for additional cream for coffee and tea only one cream is provided a day. You have to pay to use the microwave. You have to pay for them to bring breakfast to your room. I asked for ice they gave me one glass n told me I was lucky to get that! The bar tender has a very unfriendly attitude! The comforters are stained with what looks like urine coffee n old blood so they cover them by putting them inside of a white comforter cover. The pillows are stained filthy dirty looks like they have never been changed or washed they cover them with pillow cases. When I bought it to the managers attention they couldn’t provide us with not one clean comforter or pillow. When it is time to check out they will come to the room and count the towels, pillows, sheets, hot water kettle, and everything that is in the room as if you would dare steal one filthy item from the hotel. When you give them the key they give you a bill with charges that are outrageous such as there is a stain on the pillow or a sheet! Excuse me you all had us sleeping on filthy mattress under filthy covers and refused to give us a refund! I definitely would not recommend this hotel to people who are traveling and looking for comfort!

A Pleasant Time

The bathroom had molds around the bathtub and tiles. There was no shower curtain, so when taking a shower, water splashes around the bathroom, so you subsequently have to sit on a wet toilet. A dirty, torn, discolored, and irritating towel was placed by the bathtub for me to step on when walking out of the bathtub. I didn't bother to check their other towels, if they were clean. Luckily i brought my own towel. The online pictures of this hotel are absolutely not a true representation of the current state of the hotel. The room had about 5 power sockets, but only two were working. However, the hotel's cooks make very delicious meals.

The bed was low. Room old and outdated. Toliet seat too small to properly fit the toilet. Bathroom counter was old with chipped paint. Shower head was dingy. Was not impressed with this hotel at all. The only nice area was by the pool. Not sure how this hotel is considered four star. Would definitely not be staying here again.

Passable if not great
Hotels is good price for the area it is in but in effect you get what you pay for in terms of faculties. The rooms are nice enough with a comfy bed, hot shower and reasonable internet. Most staff are very friendly and happy to help especially the room staff. Cannot say the same for the barman who made it clear that he preferred to be lazy and do nothing than to assist. Didn’t have breakfast so cannot comment on that but did have food twice in the evening which was ok even though took an age to arrive. Hotel needs to sort the rat problem it has. We sat one evening by the pool and observed numerous rats running to and fro. No traps etc seen so will continue to thrive. All in all the hotel is passable and useable but could be more with a little staff training and a little tlc.

Old and outdated rooms. Bed was hard. Room was musty. Had to call for assistance 3x re: toilet that wouldn’t flush and then the shower wouldn’t work. Room was switched but it didn’t matter because the walls are paper thin and you could hear people in the hallway at all hours. Also, the bar didn’t have ice, more than once. Would not recommend. Ever.

The facility is clean, area is acceptable. The staff were rude and stole from me even though I tipped them nearly everyday. I left an expensive jacket in the room and left. When I called for my jacket I was to check the uber to Airport for a few day journey. They also hanged up on me several times. Not happy and not recommended to others.

The proximity to the airport was the only positive experience. The room was ok, however the bathroom was a disappointment. Bath had stains all along it's edges, there was no shower curtain so water from the tub fell freely on the floor which had no floor mat. All through the night, there was incessant noise from some type of construction or moving and noise from foot traffic. Expedia, you did not do justice with your rating of the hotel. It was a dismal experience altogether!

Good value hotel within Ikeja. Comfortable rooms and nice neat pool area. Food offering are a bit bland and uninspiring but numerous places close by to get food from. Staff within the hotel are fairly robotic and unfriendly. They give the impression they doing you a favour if ask them for anything. Covid regs are in place but guests and staff alike are rarely sited in a mask. If you aren’t going to follow your own regs then don’t display them everywhere! Will return as worth the money but advice to hotel is to have some staff training so know who they there to assist.

Disappointing state of Swimming Pool, as the ladder into the pool is broken. The water in the pool is dirty. Terrible Health & Safety Hazzard! The Bathroom is NOT well cleaned, with dirty windows /covers dirty. No shower cotton for the bath. The Room Table Lamp wouldn't work, until I called for it to be replaced! [I was in Room 303. The Receptionist is full of attitude to guest visitors! No Room Slippers. Food is seriously expensive. Customer Relations is well below par, but that is not surprising, as this is Nigeria! The Management needs to check every room for what needs to be repaired and replace rather than waiting for guest to be pointing the problems. The Receptionist doesn't have to be full of attitude to guests either. Any of their non-smiling receptionist should be removed and replaced. The Hotel is good but for all of the above.

Grandbee its a decent midrange price hotel
The Grandbee has good customer service, but the hotel is getting older. The bed was too hard, the bathroom needs improvements- the shower door installed on the tub doesn't stop water from getting sprayed everywhere. Unfortunately I stayed in the hotel next door -Shoregate before staying at the Grandbee and it was a step down. But I think it was worth a price.

Environment and location is superb. In Ikeja GRA, with nearby facilities and proximity to local and international airports. Very friendly and efficient staff, and quick check in. Rooms and surrounding areas are very clean. No noise, very quiet. Very good value for your bucks. Check it out.

Nice hotel and friendly staff, they just need to improve their breakfast. It’s a bit annoying. You have to bring your own water or buy water at breakfast. It’s kind of ghetto.
