Nice hotel…. A few drawbacks.
Nice, clean, hotel. However I struggled to get food on the first two night I stayed. The restaurant was closed on Sundays and Mondays. There’s no takeouts or restaurants near by so had to order food through an app to the room. It’s on the top of a very large bank. It was a bit of a killer walking up and down everyday. I didn’t get any food on my stay so can’t comment. They have a gym but again I didn’t bother. Overall, I’d say nice for an overnight but not very interesting.

Welcoming, great rooms and great location
I have stayed in both Giessen and Wetzlar a few times but this was my first time at the Michel Hotel. The check in staff were excellent and extremely friendly and accomodating and keen to make you feel welcome. The rooms are a good size with modern fittings and very comfortable along with tea & coffee facilites which make a welcome change. The breakfast is varied and excellent quality although at around 8am the tables were a premium so would suggest going a little earlier to avoid teh stampede if possible. the location is excellent with a 10 minute stroll into town where there are several places to eat and drink if you do not fancy teh hotel. I ate in teh Hotel sports bar one night and the food was very good with excellent service again. I would definitely stay here again but the only feedback would be that check out was a little slow as only one person on the desk and additonal costs for parking but otherwise an excellent hotel and would definitely stay again.

Good hotel, 10min walk to Dom(old church) and 20min to city center, no grocery stores near by, need to go near Dom. Lifts are quite old dont worry, break fast is good. Reception staff are friendly

We loved the service, the atmosphere, and the food at the Michel Hotel Wetzlar! This was my parents' first trip to Europe and they were thrilled with the enormous breakfast & the good coffee. Definitely a winner! '

AC turned off automatically every 6-8 hours. Staff (reception) was not familiar with the options for buying groceries in the area. They just sent me to to Forum (a shopping center 10 minute drive away but you have other options like EDEKA 3 minutes away) Parking is a mess at this hotel if you don't want to pay extra for parking. WIFI is VERY slow. A big plus for the kitchen and bar staff from Champs.

huge building
Big property that is suitable for conferences, offers affordable rooms that are quite some distance from the reception. The room was cold with an airco and not too noisy. The gym was just sufficient, it was a smelly room and features 1 cable machine that was suitable for most muscles and some cardio. I loved the breakfast and the parking spaces. Short walk to downtown.

Positive aspects: great breakfast buffet. Reasonable prices. Room was large. Bed comfortable. Negative aspects: a few of the staff were quite rude. We arrived back at our room at 6pm to find the door wide open with the housekeeping keys in the door and all of our stuff on display. Nobody came to get the keys - we had to return them to the desk. There was no fridge in the room so we couldn't store milk for our baby. My parent's room still wasn't cleaned by 6pm each evening. Not a bad hotel but severe lack of customer service means we won't return. The breakfast sure was delicious though.

Staff is friendly. No doubt this is mainly a business hotel based on hosting conferences. The room was comfortable, spacious and reasonably fresh. Some of the hotel (the lobby for example) could use some refreshing to make it really live up to its 4 Star claim but overall a nice place.

Disappointing Hotel
The hotel is not located in city center,or not on walking distance to city center. The staff in restaurant was so kind whereas the staff in reception was ironic;Normally they asked us to fill us the forms while checking in the hotel.But she explained the reason as;that they need our idedntity details to know if there is a fire in the hotell and we die..So they should know WHO was staying at their hotel. The rooms were so noisy..

Too hot to handle!
When we arrived we were given a room that had a 'window' in to a conference room. There was no air con and only a fan to keep cool (it was 30+ degrees). We asked to move rooms and were given one with a window - however, with no air con at all it was still too hot to sleep. The breakfast is really good - make sure you get it in the price of your room. Wetzlar is an old fashioned German town, but lovely for a few days stay and the hotel isn't too far to walk.

Business hotel with conference center near oldtown
The hotel is within walking distance of old town Wetzlar, a charming city on the Lahn in Hessen. We picked this hotel because it was close to a relative's house and for no other reason. We were disappointed in that this is primarily a business person's hotel with a conference center, and we were a family traveling together. The hotel itself is pretty plain and not very attractive from the outside. Parking was challenging and very limited, so get there early to park; otherwise, you will have to park in the unpaved lot across the street. Every other hotel we stayed in included breakfast but this one did not. And considering this was primarily for business people, and not air conditioned, it was quite surprising. Price was also not great considering this is Wetzlar...

The hotel is situated in a nice hill, good size and conditions. When we first checked in, they gave us the wrong room, a double bed instead of two single beds which we paid extra for it. The room (4th floor) has no phone to call the front desk. So we went downstairs and then was asked to go back and bring everything down to recheck, minor inconvenience. Also parking is near by and free. Except good room conditions, there is no coffee maker (of course no coffee) or hot water boiler. You have to go to the third floor restaurant to get a pot of hot water. Also Internet is 9 Euro a day, and there is no adapter for American plugs.

I expected better!
The room was amazing. I asked for a quiet room following an earlier review and this I got. It was great. Sadly the pool was a little cool, and the sauna was not on (one of the main reasons for choosing this 4 star hotel). I asked at reception and went back later but it was still not on. Not so helpful! I did not eat in the hotel, as there were so many restaurants and cafés close by. The town was lovely for a weekend.

A week of comfort.
I enjoyed everyday while I was there. The staff was very friendly and always had a solution to any issues I had. My room was cleaned daily and the cleaning staff were very friendly and understanding. They took very good care of me while I was there.

The hotel (at least the parts I saw) had been generally redecorated so was fresh. the lifts were a little less smart. Service was excellent - my requests were dealt with quickly and fully. Parking was sufficient for most nights but was almost full on two nights (I got the last space one night but it was 02.00 so I was probably the last person to arrive)

Very nice! It is a bit of a hike from the train station, but a taxi was only 5.90 euros and hotel also close to the bus stop. Easy walk to the historical district, shopping and downtown to the mall.

Good value for money
Clean and quiet rooms at night, comfortable bed. Good shower, spacious bathroom. Swimming pool and sauna in the basement were a big plus, just a pity I didn't have much time to enjoy it. No breakfast included, but bakery and other cafes are just a 5 min walk away in the center of Wetzlar. Very good value for money.

Nice tradissional german town.
This hotel was cheap and nice. One of the nicest compared to price.:). The only thing that wasnt perfect was that the showerhead was broken but it still worked. Not a big deal.

nice place to stay for a few days
It is a typical Mercure - clean and functional. One reason I picked up this particular was they the advertised a fitness center - well, that `center' could as well not be there - it's in the same area as pool, therefore in atmosphere where it is impossible to do any exercise. It probably hasn't been used for last 10 years anyway. Aside of this the hotel is perfectly fine.

This is a nice hotel but the day we were there the pool wasn't open. The staff are efficient but not very friendly, it is a business hotel really. Wetzlar however is a lovely old town and worth a visit.
