Nice Hotel, Noisy Location

We had no idea how busy downtown Annecy was going to be! And this hotel is smack dab in the middle of a really busy part of downtown - a lot of traffic, a lot of noise. First impression wasn't great, but once inside the hotel and off the gritty city street, it got better.
The room was nice, comfortable, and simply appointed. Windows opened but with such loud street noise and lots of cigarette smoke, we couldn't really keep them open. The room air conditioning was a little finicky and thermostat was hard to read and adjust.
Parking is way limited on the street. There is an underground public parking garage across the street that costs about $14/day. The hotel pays for your overnight parking there, so that's cool.
Hotel staff spoke english and was mostly helpful. The morning we checked out, however, and asked the clerk how to get from the hotel to the highway to Geneva, he told us he "had no idea" and to just follow the signs. We did and it was fine. Just a little interesting that a person working in a city one hour from Geneva doesn't know how to point you there!
