Noisy no-frills

Posted Feb 9, 2017
Rather noisy and worn out hotel relatively close to the centre of Annecy. If you have a room facing the road it will be very noisy, also at the weekend a lot of loud guests in other rooms. Tip for if you are staying and you have a car, parking outside in the street is free after 19:00 and before 09:00, if you have a parking disc (where you can show time of arrival) this will save you having to pay the €7 a day charge of the hotel. Overall, we wouldn't want to stay here again and wouldn't want to recommend it to families, it is worn out, smelly (clearly a case of Febreeze over use to try and cover over the smoking in rooms), the taps were leaking and the bath wasn't much better in terms of being leak proof. The only thing it's got going for it, and this is rather scraping the barrel, is it's okay location.

Run down

Staff very good, but all areas of hotel looking very tired , small rooms , minimal storage, poor quality in all respects, breakfast expensive and low quality. Had to change rooms because toilet did not flush, where is the checking?

Convenient and clean hotel

Posted Nov 13, 2016 on Hotels
This hotel was perfect for my overnight stay in annecy! It was clean, comfortable, cosy and spacious, would definitely stay here again if I needed to. It is about a 25 minute walk to the Lac D'Annecy but very straight forward and easy

Small, clean room, fine for the price

Posted Oct 29, 2016 on Hotels
It was a small room, clean and comfortable. The television did not have a remote. It did not have a fridge or minibar. The WiFi was OK. The breakfast just consisted of pastries, coffee and juice and cereal. For the price it was fine.

Good central location

Room mostly clean. Signs of old mold in bathroom but not terrible. Beds were very comfortable. Air conditioning did not work in our room. Every setting option put out heat. Had to open window which made noisy location even louder. We have super heavy duty air plugs which allowed us to sleep ok. Just stayed the one night which was fine.

Tiny room, minuscule bathroom which was decorated in a way that made it look like it was covered in mould. Random man walked into the locked room early in the morning (not a cleaner or staff as far as I could tell) whilst my husband and I were still in bed - was slightly concerned who else could / did get in during our stay.

Decent hotel, good if you're on a budget

About a 20 minute walk to the train station/ main shopping area and 25 minute walk to lake Annecy (but there is a bus route that runs right from the train station to the hotel). Everything was okay, kind of uncomfortable bed.

Unpleasant smells and not a good deal for your $!

Posted Jan 18, 2016
Pros: Not really anything!
Cons: Have clean and not torn curtains! Get rid of unpleasant odors in hotel, not by masking but by cleaning or changing wherever the smell lies.
Location: Annecy is great. Cran-Grevier is only notable because of its closeness, though it may have some charm we didn't get to see during our quick stay.
The whole hotel - lobby, floors, and the room somewhat - had strange and almost overpowering smells of cleaner mixed with cigarette smoke and other unpleasant unknown odors. Our room was much smaller than expected. No hot water or coffee. While breakfast was noted on the listing, after we booked, we were then informed that breakfast was an extra 7 or 8 Euros. The sheets were very clean. The curtain was torn and dirty. The shower floor was stained (hair dye?). The only soap was a dispenser located in the shower, a 3 in 1 hair/body/hand cleanser. Parking was noted on the listing but again, after booking, it was noted it was extra. Note - only small cars can park there! (thankfully, we had a small rental car)
