Nice hotel in a tranquil environment.Posted Oct 1, 2017
Pros: Location, guest room with nice mountain and river view, helpful staff
Cons: No dinner available for a 5-star hotel!
Location: Several trail walks from the hotel to the surrounding fells, with stunning scenery
5 minutes drive to Ambleside Town Centre. Friendly and helpful staff. Starting point for a walk to the surrounding mountains with stunning views of tarns and fells which you should not miss. They provide clear direction and instruction for the walks so just ask. Nice mountain and river view from the hotel room. Lovely daily cakes from the hotel. Breakfast is excellent. Convenient location as a base to explore the lake district. Would definitely recommend!

Nice hotel with beautiful views.Posted Sep 11, 2017
Pros: Beautiful location and very nice staff. And the dogs.
Cons: The window for Breakfast in the morning was 30 mins, felt rushed, be nice to extend as the guests are on vacation and would like to take their time.
Location: Beautiful surrounding with hills, forests and lakes. Paradise for nature lovers and hikers.
Beautiful views to lake Windermere. Nice base to drive and discover surrounding beautiful towns with cozy cafes and restaurants. Scenic hiking trails starting right behind the hotel.

Superb stay in a beautiful hotelPosted Sep 4, 2017
Pros: Large, spotless rooms; wonderful breakfasts, lovely friendly staff.
Location: Located just outside Ambleside, best to drive/taxi especially at night. So many things to do nearby, and lots of fantastic walks and beautiful scenery
Beautiful location, wonderful room with absolutely stunning views (Brathay Junior Suite), spotlessly clean with fresh cakes daily and selection of specialty teas. Large, wonderfully presented en-suite shower room with wonderfully powerful shower. Friendly animals and even friendlier staff, with nothing too much trouble. Breakfasts were simply wonderful — amazing cooked breakfasts, or scotch pancakes/porridge/scrambled egg with smoked salmon etc, selection of cereals, a huge bowl of the tastiest fruit salad. We would both love to return here.

We had such a lovely stay here, wish we'd booked for longer. We found ourselves not wanting to go out sightseeing because it was so comfortable and peaceful.
Fantasic stay at Nanny BrowPosted Jul 7, 2017 on Hotels
Nanny Brow was exactly what you would expect from a 5 star Guest house. Spotless, very comfortable and terrific staff. Breakfast was exceptional and the home baking in the room was a very nice touch.

Wonderful old hotelPosted Jun 29, 2017
Everything was excellent. Freshed cooked breakfast to order. Two small concerns. No elevator so be sure to request a first floor room if walking up stairs is a problem. Also the Nanny Brow does not have a restaaurant so all other meals must be taken elsewhere. However, there is so much to see and do in the lake district, we were always outside anyway.
