Recent stay was 5 stars
We recently stayed for a friends weeding and you could not fault the hotel. Great location the staff are lovely. They even had a pool but it was very cold maybe warm the pool up. Apart from that would stay here again for sure as the views from the room was stunning.

Family friendly hotel, very close to lake
We had a lovely time at Hotel Benacus. ALL the staff were so friendly and helpful. We had booked a standard double room and on arrival they had kindly upgraded us to a family room (free of charge) as we were travelling with our toddler which was very kind. Even at breakfast my husband couldn't eat the scrambled eggs as they had bacon and again the next morning and for the rest of the week they had made the eggs without bacon and without even asking for this! Another very kind gesture. The room was modern and clean, had a smart TV which was handy for our toddlers cartoons. The play area outside was a nice touch and the pool was good but wasn't warm enough to go in. They also give you a free hour on their quadricycle which we could go on as a family and was lots of fun! In terms of location, it was perfect. Opposite a supermarket which was handy and a 15-20 minute leisurely walk along the beautiful lake to the centre of Malcesine. Overall a lovely hotel with lovely staff. Thank you!

Would happily recommend
Really friendly staff, rooms are due to be renovated over the winter so will improve even more over time! Location is a 20-25 minute walk to Malcesine along the lake which is so scenic. Or you can take a 5min bus at 1,20 or 2,10 depending on the tourist or local bus. Very much recommended!

Recent stay in Malcesine
Hotel Benacus was a joy to stay in. I had a single room which was spacious, comfortable and clean as was all the hotel and grounds. The management and staff were very pleasant and welcoming and always on hand to give advice and information with regard to the resort and amenities. I would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travellers.

Visiting the Garda lake
It was a 2 nite stay; enjoyed the area..super beutiful. Roberto, owner and manager of the hotel personally takes care of the guests and does a wounderful job. Alwayz offering his assistance and guiding guests to places and providing or recommeding restorants with discounts. I will come back to this hotel any time I can.

Excellent Hotel
We had a fantastic stay at Hotel Benacus. Everybody was so friendly and helpful. The hotel, pool & grounds were spotlessly clean and the views were beautiful. The walk into Malcesine took about 20 minutes but 95% of the walk is on a flat promenade next to the beautiful lake.

Nice hotel walkable to town centre
Stayed for 6 nights in June. Comfortable room with balcony. Very clean family run hotel, very friendly and helpful. Family obviously take a pride in their hotel and guests comfort. Garden and pool area very peaceful and relaxing. Hotel about 20/30 enjoyable minute walk along lake into old town of Malcesine (or if you prefer a 5 minute tourist bus ride for 1 euro).

This hotels good points, staff great, pool and grounds beautiful, breakfast room and balcony great, very clean, beautiful walk along lake to the town, great views from the hotel. Not many down sides but here they are, breakfast selection very poor, bed comfort not great, should have towel service for pool ???. I had a great time and would return again.

Family Holiday
We stayed in a family room for a week, the whole hotel was kept in an excellent and tidy condition. The hotel staff were extremely friendly, and spoke excellent English and couldn't do enough to make our stay welcoming. I would definately stay again if I was visiting Lake Garda.

Nice Hotel close Malcesine.
It was our first time in Lake Garda and we found this to be a great location. Lots of lovely places to go. Limone & Riva by boat, mount Baldo by cable car, plus walking and cycling along the lake shore. Lots of choices on places to eat out and a very friendly and clean hotel to stay in (Benacus).

Fantastic service
We had a small room, without balcony or fridge, but was clean & pleasant. Staff were friendly, helpful & attentive. Close to Mercesine by a 15 min walk (recommend lakeside not road side!! ) where we ate well.

Perfect stay at a perfect hotel
Myself and my fiance stayed here during easter weekend, hotel was very easy to find and we were made very welcome there as soon as we arrived. Parking was free at the hotel and plenty of spaces available. All staff who worked there were so friendly, polite and provided excellent service. Our room was lovely very very clean with a balcony view over the lake-perfect. Breakfast was very nice, and they even opened the restaurant early for us when we were leaving as we had an early flight back home-nothing was too much for them excellent service!!! Thank you so much hotel benacus we will definately be coming back to stay very soon- number 1 hotel:)

Excellent hotel within short walk of town center
3 star hotel but with 5 star service. Roberto and his staff cannot do enough for you. Hotel is about a 15 minute walk along the lake to town center or the tourist bus stops outside for €1 per person. Supermarket just across the road and ATM next door. Cannot recommend this hotel enough, stayed here for family holiday and will be back again.

Brilliant Experience
From first arrival to departure Roberto and staff were superb. Gave us maps , details of restaurant discounts in Malcesine and cards for reductions for the boats and cablecar to Mount Baldo. Great also to have access to pool on site. Although 20 minute walk from Malcescine the walk is beautiful and if you do not want to walk there is a tourist bus stop from outside the hotel for 1 euro. Also worth noting the bus stop for the Verona to Riva Del Garda bus is beside hotel allowing easy access to other towns on eastern side of lake garda. Definitely hope to get back there some day.

A lovely hotel that is superbly run by Roberto and his staff, always a pleasure to deal with them over our 7-day stay. The hotel is a 20 minute walk from Malcesine, but there is an hourly tourist bus for 1 euro, we actuall walked as it's a good opportunity to work off all the pasta and pizza, the food is VERY samey throughout the whole area, you end up yearning for anything non-italian after a few days.

Close to beautiful lake walk
Hotel Benacus is a lovely, family-run hotel, ideal for couples and families. The staff are exceptionally helpful and welcoming. Rooms are compact and very clean. The breakfast buffet is a treat, offering something for every taste. Beside the hotel there is a pharmacy, and small shops for groceries, newspapers, and bus tickets. Across the road is a supermarket. Beside the supermarket is a path down to the lake. This makes for a gorgeous view across and up the lake, and a refreshing stroll into Malcesine - about 25 minutes. This was our second visit to Hotel Benacus, and we're looking forward to next year already

Very happy with our stay at the hotel Benacus. Roberto, his staff & father were very friendly & did all they could to be helpful. Recently renovated, the bedrooms & restaurant were very clean & nicely furnished. Delightful garden area with pool, jacuzzi & ample sunbeds & umbrella's. Bar with indoor & outdoor seating which provided light meals till 2100hrs. Perfect location, Malcesine centre being a 25 minute walk away along a magnificent paved (& well lighted after dark) lakeside walk. The views were stunning & it was an enjoyable part of our daily routine to take this route. If you preferred, the 'tourist bus' charged 1 euro per person for the short drive into town & picked up very close to the hotel. Will return.

Truly Memorable Experience
Fabulous family run hotel, faclities were excellent, every part of the hotel spotlessly clean. Lovely pool area always sun beds available. Hosts Roberto and Marissa were extremely friendly and helpful providing advice on places to visit and things to do made you feel welcome and valued. Even the family dog Arturo welcomed every guest as if they were a life long friend. Continental breakfast had excellent choice and you could eat as much or as little as you wanted. Plenty of parking spaces and you could hire bikes from the hotel. There were 2 super markets and a couple of small shops in the immediate vicinity and prices were good, bottles of decent wine for 4-5 euros.Beautiful walk along Lake Garda into Malcesine which took about 20 minutes interspersed with hotels and restauraunts and the smell of pine trees, heaven! Or you could get the tourist bus which was extremely reliable into the centre for 1 euro..brilliant service. Malcesine was wonderful, full of lovely restaurants some cheap and cheerful others more sophisticated but you got what you paid for which in our case was good food..special mention for the Gondolier, try the lamb chops..superb! Most bars , restaurants served really good wine for 10 euros a bottle , 2 euros a glass. Cable car well worth the trip but go early to avoid crowds and take good walking shoes and sun cream you will experience fantastic views of snow capped mountains quite surreal when its 30 degrees. Use the ferries to check out other resorts but although they are pretty, quaint, charming Limone, Sirmione and Lazise were our favourites, I think Malcesine is the best. Never been to the Italian Lakes before but will definitely return, definitely go back to the Benacus can't wait. If you don't enjoy yourself here you must be really hard to please. War ein sehr erholsamer Aufenthalt in angenehmer Umgebung. Sehr guter und freundlicher Service. Schöne neu renovierte Zimmer mit super Blick, schöner Garten. Empfehlungen sehr hilfreich. Preis Leistung in Ordnung, allerdings ist der Gardasee ein teures Pflaster.

Netter Garten mit Pool, Supermarkt in direkter Nähe, nur 5 min zur Segelschule Stickel, Zimmer alles was man braucht, schöner Weg am See entlang in der Kernort, ca 20 min., immer wieder.
